It brings up the updating thing, updates fine. Then goes away, I check task manager the process is still running. Unfortunity I can't play the game 90% of the time.

Hi there Limquat, it looks as if your game is just crashing for some reason. Could you have a look for logs? They'll be in your user home directory under .droid_assault_1.92 or somesuch, entitled err.log and out.log. If you find them, plonk them on pastebin.com and I can take a look.

Similar problem. Game actually shuts down, though.

what do you need to know from error log? Steam won't let me post the error log (exceeds max character length)

The logs I'm really interested in are the hs_err_pid1234.logs which are found alongside the .exe in the installation folder. And the first 20 or so lines usually has all the information I need, and usually those 20 lines say, "your video drivers crashed."

Same problem even after updating Java.

Our games don't use a system JRE. That crash log is an Intel driver crash:

# C [ig7icd32.dll+0x3b60e]

Okay, I got the game to run. Seems that for whatever reason, my video drivers weren't up-to-date. surface pro video drivers for the hd4000 seem to be a little proprietary. I updated to he official intel hd4000 drivers (v from the 9.17.(something) version. everything runs fine now.
thanks for taking the time to help me out.

The same thing happens to me Rasputen, I can't get this crappy budget game to play

after I got the recent droid update my system video crashes and the game doesn't start. I'm a linux user. Video goes black with horizontal yellow lines accross the screen.

Well, if that's not a driver failure, I don't know what is :|

not sure why it would be, when other steam games work fine. Here is what I would like to know, how to fix it. ??

oddly enough revenge of the titans works fine.

DA does have a bit of extra fancy graphics in it to do line-of-site occlusion... you can turn that off in the options and see how it fares in fullscreen afterwards.
