Devs: 3 suggestions for a future update
I'm so glad that PuppyGames is still updating the game. It's so great! Please consider these 3 suggestions for a future update (and non devs, please comment!)

1. Show the location of your teammates. A new(er) feature is your teammates showing enemies that they spot. Great! But also, show an icon over your teammate's positions as well so you know where your support is.

2. Implement teammate general orders. Allow the player to set up a few general orders for your teammates, such as rally, maximum distance to the player, aggressive / defensive behavior, etc. Set a button to pause play and choose behavior from a menu. Or, to keep the pacing constant, have pre-set orders available in the team screen between levels.

3. Make a story / campaign / adventure mode. Droid Assault probably wouldn't exist without it's predecessor, Paradroid. Paradroid was about clearing a ship of enemy bots, and allowed you to choose how you moved about the ship. Droid Assault could really use a mode similar to this, with larger and deeper goals than just "how many levels can I beat?". It wouldn't take alot of extra effort. Make a ship map where the levels 1-50 are arranged, and allow free movement through all levels (but typically one level is only connected to 1-2 other levels via elevator). One of the great things about Paradroid is that you could technically go anywhere on the ship, but you wouldn't dare go to the tougher areas without first beefing up. And of course, you had an actual goal and you could be strategic about it.

Thanks for reading. Comments?

1. you can see where your teammates are as they are highlighted with a blue circle even behind walls. Or should be.
2. it's under consideration but it might end up being a whole new game
3. we're already doing, though it's on the backburner as we make Battledroid, and again, this might end up being a whole new game in the end

Re: 3 -- I read about the 'RPG mode' DLC you were planning but had to put aside because of Battledroid. Would be cool to still see that or possibly a new game (loyalty discount for Droid Assalt owners ).

The thing is you have all the groundwork for it. A lot of different 'abilities/stats' like the armor, cores, tons of different guns/fire modes, etc. Lots of different models, power ups, the basic set up for rooms and bosses, etc. All of this would be great in a 'rogue-like' (using the term loosely) in the style of Binding of Isaac. Although DA is primarly based around squads it would be neat to have a solo robot game where you progress through randomly generated rooms/levels stumbling on to various 'drops' that alter your bot be it gun type, speed, richochet shot, more armor, etc. Tons of replayability as you get different outcomes each time.

I specifically checked for this and it wasn't happening for me with the latest update. I have a vague memory of being able to see my teammates in a prior version, so perhaps it was lost?

They've done this for quite some time and they're still doing it now.

Possibly it only happens for a particular video setting? I have an Intel express chipset that doesn't allow for shader or distortion options.

I don't think that squads and adventure mode are mutually exclusive. There's no reason that you couldn't have a paradroid style DA mode that allows you to build squads.
