And that makes it not launch because of what?

Because Steam isn't exactly reliable. You might have to zap Droid Assault and reinstall.

Already tried that, might it be because I'm on a mac?

Hmm the Mac version is even more unreliable than the Windows version; sometimes you actually have to reboot the whole Mac if it gets its knickers in a twist.

Try restarting steam. Worked for me!

Meh, Rebooting didn't work, guess I'll just have to wait till I buy my windows computer to play this. :/

Oh there is one other small snafu with the Mac version - if you've got an ancient version of Java on it, it will just fail silently. It requires that you have 32-bit Java 6 installed (not 7!) and that 32-bit Java 6 is your system default JVM.

We're working on a better solution to that in the meantime, hopefully we'll have it working in the next few days.

... I don't know how to get 32-bit Java 6 btw, I'm not a Mac expert! I'm sure it's just something in System Update and Preferences that'll sort it.
cprince  [developer] Jan 15, 2013 @ 5:18pm
... in fact I don't even know if it needs to be 32 bit or not, that's a guess...
Shadew Jan 15, 2013 @ 5:22pm
My guess is it does because mine's not 32-bit, which would definitely explain it.

Hmm, you might be able to tweak the Info.plist file in the Droid Assault.app and add the VM argument -d32 to it, which might force it to select a 32 bit VM.

I might be able to.... if I understood how that worked. finding info.plist is easy, but the second part, you lost me. XD

Hmm... I have a Mac and have 32-bit Java (SE) 6 and it won't launch.
Actually have both 32-bit and 64-bit, with the "first compatible version to use" in Java Preferences being 64-bit.

(Changing the order so that the first compatible version to use is 32-bit doesn't fix anything...not sure why it would anyway, but I tried it just in case.)

Edit: Deleting and reinstalling the game didn't fix the problem; neither did restarting Steam or rebooting the computer.
Especially frustrating because the game worked perfectly yesterday. :/

I just wanna play this game! ...Sorry, that's not constructive to this thread. For Mac's running Leopard, 32bit Java SE 6 doesn't seem to be an option.
