"Checkpoint reached" beyond Level 41, how to access?
Maybe I am missing something here, but how do I access levels beyond the initial 40 stages? I have played to 61 yesterday - quit, came back today, had to start allover - managed past 41 then quit but when starting checkpoint 4 I keep coming back at level 31 instead of 41 - is this working as intended? I would love to go for score hunting - but I find this game works best in small 10-20 level doses - having to redo the "fourth stage" and then survival from there would be a bit of a bummer.

Fun fact; after the controller issue and the problem that the game kept telling me I was running an old version constantly - this is like the only thing left bugging me (and I swear there is a message "Checkpoint reached" coming up when beating Letum) and I really hope it's just me being blind/stupid figuring out how to access the later checkpoints.

Ain't got checkpoints past level 40 but enough people have asked that I think we'll squeeze in a bunch more at the bottom of the UI somehow. I think it does mistakenly say "checkpoint reached" at level 41 but (shameful face) I've never actually beaten my own game.

Maybe start spreading them checkpoints out a bit after 40. Like, maybe make the next one at 60 and then 90 after that. Just a thought. I'm guessing there's no actual "end" to this game?

But I can see why there are no checkpoints after 40. It would be a bit of an unfair advantage to people who have reached, say, level 80 and got checkpoint, letting them basely begin with an already highscore where others who worked hard for that really high score from all the way back at 40 and continued through to 100 without the aid of a checkpoint.

Personally, if you do add more checkpoints after 40, I'd say not to add more than 3 more at the most, and not too high up. I guess it depends on how often those higher levels get reached. *shrug*

We're going to add more checkpoints in - considering just simply allowing checkpoints up to level 100, basically, every 10 levels. Then after that you're on your own. You're right that the game doesn't have an end, it just gets progressively more and more mental until eventually you'd need to be some sort of superhuman to play it.

Checkpoints every 10 levels would make it too easy. Part of the fun is to learn how to survive. If you can just try again it takes away some of the motivation to improve. I think checkpoints every 20 levels might be a good option (0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 60, 80, 100). That would force you to concentrate, but still take away the frustration of dying.

100 should be a limit, I mean, the scoring board wouldn't make any sense if you could just pick up you best game and improve it bit by bit. It's an arcade game.

Another option would be to give the player 2 checkpoints that can be freely chosen between level 40 and 100. That way you could set them at 40 and 50 for example to get used to higher levels and after that start again and try to set a checkpoint at level 100.

At this point it's just fiddling with numbers. How many checkpoints? How high can they go? etc. There will never be an actual consensus. We'll just enable 10-level checkpoints up to level 100 and leave it at that. Proper hardcore loons can go for the hiscores post level 100; everyone else can incrementally improve their scores, bit by bit, up to level 100.

Yup, checkpoints up to level 100 now. Ran out of UI space :)
