Is this playable as a twin 8-way stick shooter?
cprince  [desarrollador] 19 MAR 2013 a las 2:06
That's what it's meant to be playable as.

Works perfectly with my 360 wired controller and Logitech controller and some other wierdy thing I've got lying around here. I suspect your driver settings are what are flummoxing it. The 360 controller has a few extra switches on it that can do things like invert the axes, and the drivers have all sorts of crazy magic in them to rename axes and so on which will confuse a game expecting to find the default ones.

I have the same problem with my 360 Controller.
Redownloading the drivers for the controller didn't fix the issue.

I don't think it's a case of redownloading them - I think it's the actual driver settings. Possibly buried in the control panel somewhere.

bought the game ... I LOVE twin stick shooters ... XBOX 360 controller just not working ... played with mouse and keyboard ... very unfulfilling ...

you say that driver settings could be to blame. please tell me how I need to set up the driver settings and how. i can see the game will be just my cup of tea, but with mouse and keyboard it's too frustrating to even play another game

I have no idea to be honest, I just plugged in my 360 controller into the USB port and configured nothing at all; it just worked. Is there anything in the control panel?
Spoonunit 19 MAR 2013 a las 9:37
In control panel, under devices and printers I see the XBOX 360 controller:

Double clicking it I see the properties

Then under the hardware tab:

The other option is to right click it from control pannel to review 'Game controller settings'

Clicking the advanced button I see

So I'll certainly try changing that to the controller

Then if I click Properties then we have

I've calibrated this so I know that it all looks good.

There's also a Reset to default button under Settings, so I can try that too:

Hopefully we'll get there ...

@cprince: sorry but the problem seems to be on your end, the controller implementation ingame . My drivers are fine, i can play any game fine with my 360 Wireless Controller, only in Ultratron the right analog stick is inverted (btw it is not really inverted, when pressing up it shoots to the right, when pressing down it shoots to the left etc.).
I even plugged in my old wired 360 one, same bug. Also i am reading about a whole bunch of other people here in forums having problems with their pad, so i am not the only one..
Spoonunit 19 MAR 2013 a las 9:53
So, following on from the above output, I tested .... changing the default controller for older games, no joy ..... reset to default settings, no joy ..... unplugging my n52te, no joy

Just to check I wasn't going mad, I launched Mutant Storm and everything works completely fine.

For the record I'm on a wired 360 controller.

I have no functionality at all .... I'd be happy with inverted axis tbh - that would be better. But obviously you want axis control in-game as some people want to use up for down and down for up (crazy people of course :) )

Bit tricky to fix, I have to admit, because it "just works" with both my controllers :/ But I'll keep investigating.
Shinkyi 19 MAR 2013 a las 12:53
i know its weird idk even tryed some things but din't helped if it was like correct inverted it was no problem but like left = down is too much wrong x)
Princess Fuzzy 19 MAR 2013 a las 13:21
cprince, even if you can't reproduce the bug it should be easy enough to fix.
If you create an option to re-bind the controller inputs in the game then people experiencing the problem can fix it for themselves.
If left and right are swapped with up and down then the game is reading the wrong axes of the controller.
Allowing the user to select which axis to use for each shooting direction should eliminate the problem.

Wired 360 here, no response at all. Works fine everywhere else.
