Always on top achievement bugged?

Is anyone else having issues with acquiring the always on top achievement (perform all ground kills in the game)? I'm positive I've done every ground kill including the pot with and without the boiling water. I've even gone back and went through every ground kill again but it still won't unlock. Any suggestions?

I had a problem using getting that achievement while using an xbox 360 controller. When I switched back to playing with mouse and keyboard I was able to get the achievement.

no just you didnt get enough,some pots have water in it type,and no water in it type ,not one thing

I'm having the same problem. Used the pot, the pan with/without water, pool cue broken/unbroken and even the drill you get with one of the masks. I made sure to only count a kill with I survived a floor too. Sure hope its not glitched.

What finally solved it for me was the pot of boiling water (2nd floor, Ch. 2). I was using a regular attack to spray the enemy (which triggers an execution sequence), but that won't work. You first have to knock the enemy down (with the pot of boiling water is fine; it doesn't 'spill') and then do the ground attack on him. In the sequence you'll see jacket *pour* the boiling water on him. If you check the achievements.dat file, it's #15.

Make sure you've done all the executions with applicable throwing weapons (brick, scissors, bottle, etc.) I had missed some of those at first.

Also note that the Frying Pan (in Chapter 5) counts as a different weapon than the Pot (in Chapter 2).

"achievements.dat" file was for Original version. Updated version now has merged "achievements.dat" with the rest of the save files in one file: "C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\HotlineMiami\SaveData.sav".

However, I don't think this will help you in any way: you will only see a line of 0 and 1 but nobody has taken the time to map the weapons to each 0/1 in the file. It's on my "to do list" for when I finally end up writing that damn Hotline Miami save editor I wanted to do for a long time now...

Commonly forgotten executions are:
* pool cue AND broken pool cue (the two have different executions)
* pot with water AND without water (2nd floor Chapter 2 / 3rd flood Chapter 7) (same as pool cue, two different executions)
* frying pan (2nd floor Chapter 5 / 3rd flood Chapter 7)
* brick, dart, scissors and glass bottle (thrown weapons with unique executions)

After doing a couple of executions while securing to finish the floor, I recently received the achievement. It popped up sometime after playing. Just saw it :)

Now I only miss 5x A+ and I'm done with that!

I was planning to do the whole list again, then BANG i read your comment and it was clear i missed that weapon.
Thank you, finally i got my last 3 achievement! I even done the A+ everywhere before this two achievement, it was much easier :D

I think i would done the whole list again without noticing that motherf*cker frying pan is not the pot!

Do you need to play the game from start to make this I mean I am sure I use every weapon tı execution
