Game Freeze on Tension

I haven't been able to progress in the game for over a month due to a bug I keep encountering on Chapter 4: Tension.

Whenever I clear out the first floor of enemies I go to the stairs to clear out the next one and I get trapped in some area that seems like it's within the stairs. And when I hit esc to try to exit the game it freezes but the music loops infinitely and I end up having to manually turn off my PC.

I could really use some help here.

I love this game but this one glitch is keeping me from finishing it.

I am having the exact same problem. I have replayed the level multiple times and it freezes in the same spot every time.

Anyone know any way to fix this????
