Do you know any similar game (very old one?) ?
Many years ago i played a game which was very similar to this one, same perspective and gameplay and much blood... Hotline Miami is the first one which reminds me of that!
It was really old, i think it could be from ~1990-1995 with splitscreen multiplayer support which was funny like only few games i've played!
But i NEVER found it again (after formatting my hdd...)
;-(
Maybe anyone of you know it and can tell me the name of it?
Thanks!

PC or SNES/Genesis (assuming the NES couldn't handle it)?

I think I got It wrong, Threat did not have split screen. I'll make my last bet and say Cyberdogs! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAufBV2Xn2g

Hi and thanks for your answers!
Unfortunately the game i was searching for is none of these...

I played it on PC (i think Windows 98 or 95, but a DOS game) and "Threat" comes really close to it.
I think the name was really unmeaningly, maybe "Shooter game" or just "Killer", s.th. stupid like this. ;-)

Some more hints i hopefully remember right:
- moving map, (not like "Threat")
- it was top-down, not the perspective of "take no prisoners" or "postal 1"
- much fun with C4 explosives :-)
- weapons were in "wooden boxes" (with the name of the weapon on it..?)
- sometimes really brutal, corpses in beds, much blood...

I'm not sure if there was a "real" split screen mode, but you could play coop/vs on one screen with one keyboard.

Thank you all, i'm looking forward to find it ;)

The closest game that I can remember to this is GTA1/2 .

If the game is not Cyberdogs, then it must be Project Paradise! XD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bd2t5GdUQOU

Old Finnish classic, "Ultimate Tapan Kaikki" sounds just like the game.

Ha, no worries. Ultimate TK is a tad hard, but did you know they made one final TK with the name TK: Bloodshed? That "weapons in wooden crates" was the final dead giveaway, by the way. As for H:M itself, I'd categorize it as a puzzlegame hybrid of TK and Hitman..
