Recording Hotline Miami (DXtory, Fraps etc.)
I've been using DXtory for most games when I want to record something and it works really well and of course a lot better than old Fraps.
So, I can usually record HM with 55~60fps during the first few levels, but as soon as I get to Chapter 04 "Decadence", the fps drop to around 43~45, making it basically unplayable while recording.
It doesn't matter how I set DXtory up, changing the amount of threads or using lossless codec (I usually record with x264)
I have not yet fully tested this in Fraps, so I can't say how that does it, but in general it's the worse program in every single aspect except for benchmarking.

Anybody else having this problem ?

My specs:
Win7 x64
Phenom II x4 955 (clocking it anything from 2,9Ghz to 3,6Ghz makes no difference in terms of performance)
GTX 460 768MB SuperClocked
8GB RAM
DXtory v.2.0.119

EDIT:
As expected, Fraps runs far worse.

I had your same problem, plus i had most of the screen black when recording. I solved that by changing my screen resolution to 800x600 everytime i wanted to record Hotline Miami. Now i'll use this on mi youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNHB9_LuRVm1e6beRaiZV9A , try in a couple of days and you will se the results of the method.

Unfortunately, I am not at my main PC for another 4~5 weeks, so I can't check it.
However, I do feel that the beta update gave me a big boost (it also fixed the slow mask menu for me).
Thanks for the response anyway !
