I lost all my progress!

After playing through the majority of the game my save is now completely gone! I've tried to re-download the game but it's still gone. And if I try to start a new game from scratch I get stuck at the mask selection screen at the first level. All masks say "Unavaiable", even the very first rooster mask you get is unavaiable.

I heard this game was buggy but I didn't imagine it to be broken like this! It's a shame I really like what I played, but this is unacceptable.

Please fix it ASAP, I'm really starting to regret my purchase.

It's too bad that it has so many save-game bugs, especially for a game that emphasizes grinding out high scores.

You can start anew by doing this, but you'll still have to do every thing all over again. It happened to me also after 6 hours of game.

Unfortunately I can't help you recover your save game, however I can give you the first mask so you can start again.
Head into the game's directory (mine is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\hotline_miami), open the saves.dat file in notepad and change the first 0 on the first line to a 1.
This will give you the Richard (Rooster) mask.
