Failed to load the game. File seems corrupted.

So, bought this game a few weeks ago and was really excited to play. Had the bug where it would only open up the spash screen then close. Finally figured that out and after about an hour of play I got an error and had to close my game. Now it just tells me "failed to load the game. file seems corrupted." after a short pause. I know the fix is supposed to be disabling your printer spooler but I have done that, updated .NET, redownloaded the distributable. I even deleted my printer off my computer, still nothing. Anything anyone can do?

Exact same probelm i cant seem to find the solutin, i havent played my copy successfuly once!

Hm, I'd like to help you guys out. Maybe see if the Hotline Miami Plus! patch fixes your issue?

Hm, that makes sense considering HM and HM+ both start up the same way. What system are you running this on? Does it meet the min. specs listed?

I have 89 minutes played and i get this error now. verified, reinstalled, updated, done everything, nothing works.
running AMD 965 black 8gig ram and a HD6870, hardware is not the problem.

I actually had a ton of issues with this game before I started running it as an administrator. Anyone else tried that?

Yep tired running it in Admin mode and compatibility mode. Im running Windows 7, AMD Athalon II X4 635, Nividia GeForce GTX 560 Ti, 4 gig RAM. Yup it meets the specs for sure.

Alright guys, I have a really out there solution for you. The GM7 runner which this game is built on, I find to be pretty awful. I've just spend the last hour porting and testing the base game to the GM8 runner and I think it MAY help you guys with this issue. I'll need about 10 minutes to compile a patch. I hope you guys are using the most recent steam version because that is what I'm patching against.

Is a link to the MiamiFix directory. I didn't include any of the MiamiPlus fixes because that would take a lot of work and I'm not even sure this will solve your problems. But if it does, I will port all of my fixes to the GM8 runner and start compiling against that so that you three can play, too.

I thought i included an html file with all the instructions? Anyway, just extract everything to your hotline_miami directory which should be under steam\steamapps\common\hotline_miami and look for the folder miamifix and there should be a bat that builds the fix for you. I hope to hear that this alleviates the issue.
