Help! [Dead Game?] It Won't Open, It Won't Update

Help! This game was tons of fun, but now it won't open, it won't even go to the launcher. It says in Steam it's waiting on an update, but when I click Update, I get a "DISK WRITE ERROR." I can see the local files are still there on my hard drive. I didn't get a new hd or anything. If I try to just open the game exe, the same thing happens. This game is dead on my pc and I'm probably not even halfway in! If I have to uninstall and start over, I think I'd rather have my money back.

This is a Steam side error, nothing to do with Hotline ;)
Restarting Steam and/or your computer usually fixes the issue.
