This game displays a laughably ridiculous misrepresentation of animal behaviour and a complete lack of respect for the subject matter but I think the only way to enjoy it is to see it for the mindless escapist filth that it is. This is no more a hunting sim than Postal 2 is a gritty modern military shooter. Ask yourself, is it really any worse to slaughter hundreds of virtual animals than it is to do the same to hundreds of virtual Russian, Chinese or Arab soldiers who represent real living human beings that defend their nations as bravely as the soldiers of your nation do.

I remeber playing one of the cabela's games a while ago. The older one felt like a hunting game and this one feels like CoD with animals.....

I agree with both of you, b00 and COSH666.
First I was quite upset about "an animal shooter" but then again we shoot billions of humans in pixel-form everyday, whereas we should value all life no matter in what form. This has not made me a murderer and so I hope that people who have these fantasies consume this "game" rather than going out to poach and torture the helpless (endangered) species.

Yeah that is a very very good point. Somewhat agree with you as well frekhard. Still doesn't make it right though. It's just as bad, what a messed up reality. Yet, we accept this virtual slaughter as "Okay" or "normal".

Can't imagine the psychological impact it will have on generations. Maybe "shooters" need to be re-evaluated. I can already see an entire generation of raging 13 year old CoD fans with A.D.D in the near future.

The appropriateness of the use of force is as irrelevant as the distinction between human or animal enemies. The use of force in real life may or may not be wrong depending upon the circumstances but it doesn’t make you a bad person to slaughter human or animal enemies in a video game except in certain games like the white supremacist game ZOG’s Nightmare where you murder Blacks Jews and Homosexuals. An example would be a game with stealth mechanics that allows you to traverse the entire game without ever killing an enemy, it would be wrong to kill under those circumstances in real life but in the game it’s legitimate play. This is fantasy not reality, a mindless escapist shooter that in no way belongs in a spots or simulation category.

This is definitely not an appropriate place for an animal rights rant as they’re not real animals and could just as easily be human or alien enemies; an actual hunting website would be a much more appropriate forum.

Personally I'm ok with killing people in most games, because they are enemies who trying to kill me, so it's just self defence. If they surrender I most likely gonna let them live.
But I'm gonna feel pretty bad for killing inocent gazelle which is just running away from me, because this gazelle just want to live and not gonna hurt me in any way. On the other hand, I'm ok with killing let's say wolf who is attacking me, because again, it's just self defence.
And about this game, this game just sucks, you know why.
COD with animals, half of them don't even bother trying to kill you in real life, and another half is trying to do this in most ridiculous possible ways, disappearing bodies, hundreds of medkits just everywhere, completely unrealistic weapon balance and many other things makes this game one of the worst games I've ever seen.

English is not my native language, so excuse me for my grammatic mistakes.

I can’t understand a thing you’re trying to say; there wasn’t one coherent sentence in your entire post. What’s your problem with my username? What is it that you think you know about my morality and what’s that got to do with anything? What point are you trying to make about violence and animal rights? Do you or don’t you enjoy violent videogames? What’s Angry Birds got to do with anything?
I’d be glad to have a discussion about any of the points that I’ve made if anything you’d written was coherent.

You’re still not making yourself particularly clear but I’ll try to address the quote. What I’m trying to say is that all the people who call the killing of virtual animals in this game wrong probably think nothing of doing the same to virtual humans who are actually modelled on serving soldiers of foreign militaries. But even that’s irrelevant really because it’s just a harmless fantasy not a real life slaughter.
