*FIXED* - Crashing on launch? Official Dev Thread
Update Feb 5th: We have released a public beta patch that fixes many of the crash-on-launch issues, even for hardware that does not meet minimum specifications. Please see this thread for details! http://steamcommunity.com/app/218680/discussions/0/864958451767277608/

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The patch is live. Relaunch Scribblenauts Unlimited to have Steam automatically update the game with the fix.

If the patch does not fix the crash for you, please verify your graphics card drivers are up to date and that your computer meets the minimum specs. For anyone else still having issues, please send an email to support@5thcell.com explaining your problem.

Good news, everyone! We know what the problem is, and we're fixing it as we speak. So, what happens next? Here at 5TH Cell, we're working on patching the game. We're going to test it, push it to Steam, and then you all will get a notification next time you try to launch Scribblenauts that you need to update. We will also announce when the patch goes live. (THE PATCH IS LIVE)

Thank you for your patience!
You all are great, and we're as bummed as you that you can't play our game.

Good to hear! Could you give us an estimate of when the patch would be coming? It would be nice to play it a bit before the end of the fall break.

Although I've said it already, Thank you for working on the problem, Andrew. You've shown a good amount of Developer-to-player interaction, and the game's only been released for a day (on my end). Though, as grateful as I am to hear that a fix is in the works, do you have an estimated timeframe for when it might be available for us? I'm not impatient; I can wait, and I'm totally fine with a "We don't know" answer, but if you have an idea, that'd be super. Again, thanks for all your work.

Good News, Everyone!

Well, as long as a patch is coming, then I'm not gonna worry too much about when it's coming. When I got the crash at first, I was really frustrated because I thought it was entirely my computer's fault, in which case there wouldn't be much I could do. But since it's on the game's end, my fears were completely unfounded. HOORAY!

Also, I agree with pretty much everyone else in the thread; you guys have a wonderful relationship with your customers, working on the problem the first day it occurs. Although I am a bit curious what exactly the problem is, as the game seems to be working for some people.

That's great to hear. Out of curiosity, what was the issue? Since it only happened on certain computers and not others, my guess was a hardware incompatibility issue, but I may be way off.

It's only crashed when the dragon part where the cage got destroyed. I just restarded the game and it was fine. (It was when it was evil dragon. Redid it with holy dragon and it went fine. Dunno if it'ssometime happen with both type of dragons but well.
