Scribblenauts Crash Dump Error
Andrew Note: I've locked this thread, but am keeping in the forum for reference. If you're crashing on launch, please email support@5thcell.com and check out this thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/218680/discussions/0/882966056594502085/

ORIGINAL POST:

I pre-bought the game on Steam just seven hours before release. When I attempted to download it upon release, it kept giving me messages about corrupt data. A restart of my computer and a retry fixed this issue.

Now the game has installed, but every single time I attempt to run it, I get the following error:

"An unhandled exception has occured"

"Crash dump created at: C:/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/Scribblenauts/dumps/crash_1-_2-_2012@12-40-56.dump"

"Please report a bug with this information attached."
"The game will now terminate"

A press of Ok doesn't do anything but get rid of the error screen. I've attempted this multiple times, restarted steam, restarted the computer, but no go.

I would appreciate a solution as soon as possible, as I have just bought the game and this is the first time something has happened like this with Steam, and I would prefer to continue to trust Steam to release games fully working.

P.S: Reinstallation of the game does not fix the issue.

Verify game files if you haven't already.

Reinstalled several times today. Haven't tried backing up files yet.

Same problem here, nothing seems to fix it. Hope it gets patched/solved soon; I'm excited to play.

This is ♥♥♥♥ing me the ♥♥♥♥ off. I spent 2 hours with tech support only to find it's an issue with the game software and the only way is for the company to patch it. ♥♥♥♥. Fifth Cell needs to get it together.

Another suggestion: Via Steam's "Library", right click on Scribblenauts and select "Delete Local Content". Then, go into Steam's install directory, usually C:/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/ , and delete the entire Scribblenauts folder. Now try reinstalling.
