The game is simple. Pick a job, perform it well, clean up and become richest . A system called CrimeNet sets up multiple contracts that can be chosen from a variety of heist types including classic styled robberies, escaping from the cops and stealth based levels that are run over a few days. The game contains well over 30 different heists, no mission will play out the same way, due to randomised mission factors, which can honestly give the game countless replayability. Just when you think you have the level down pat and can finish it flawlessly.
Dont play Singleplayer, the AI won’t help you with any of the objectives. No carry out the money bags, no tying down hostages and dont help on fixing a drill. The only help they do offer is extra ammo bags and a pick up if you get down. Payday 2 is a Co Op game. Your team mates are your friends, stick by them make a plan to get through the level. Two guys on the main objective and two on the cops. This gives you the best option for survival.
Payday 2 offers no real tutorials on how to complete a heist; they simply set the objectives and give you multiple outcomes on how to get through. Every heist has different paths.
Fome of the multi-day missions have unavoidable armed conflicts, most heists allow for a skilled crew to ace them without the cops. Disabling alarms, silently taking out guards, and effectively controlling civilian crowds all have a huge impact on how fast and how severe police intervention will be.
Part of why it's so challenging, and alluring, is all the different details and elements that play meaningful roles. Downing security guards means you'll have to answer their radios to avoid alerting others. You'll need to balance your load-outs between mobility, utility, and concealability The firefights are long and intense, and the varied types of foes that get thrown your way require good resource management and quick thinking to best.
You have 4 very unique skill trees. The skill trees is around are the Mastermind (essentially the leader of the pack, he can off strategies and healing to the team), the Technician (forget standing around waiting for someone to pick locks, use the tech to blow a hole in the wall), the Enforcer (he is your gunman) and the Ghost (he is the stealthy , use him to jam electronic devices, and scanners).
Walking around the maps can be a experience, though, due to some graphical inconsistencies. Out in the streets, environments feel believable thanks to impressive daytime lighting and some authentic-looking architecture. But that believability crumbles the moment you step inside, where the geometry is so basic, and the textures so flat.
The HUD is good and simple, nothing cluttering the screen and covering what you should be looking at. Characters and enemies most look the same, you are fighting against many many uniformed officers and swat teams.
Thankfully, the great sound rescuing some of the atmosphere. Rifle fire rings out across the streets and sounds of a guard getting killed with a silenced 9mm feels like good movie.
Update for the 5th class:
John Wick is a movie starring Keanu Reeves. The "FREE DLC" includes a new playable character. A new Hitman perk deck featuring the Akimbo ability, the Chimano Compact pistol with a dozen mods, the Tanto knife, and three new pairs of sunglasses, one of which is only usable by Mr. Wick himself.
Payday 2 is a great co-op experience. Pick some friends, raid a bank and get rich!
