Yeah, while the game is primarily linear, it is intended to have a fair amount of "come back later" to it. I'd like to figure out how to put a "recommended level" with each mission to give a sense of how strong you should be, though nailing down those recommendations is difficult due to a variety of play styles and skills. Perhaps we can crowd source it and see what the world thinks is an appropriate level for each mission. :)

I haven't attempted it in my 'normal' playthrough, only my hero mode playthrough. Killing it required heavy use of poison and bleed, and most of my 6 characters were 40ish. In terms of having a normal party where you aren't limited to the main 6, I'd say you still have to use heavy poison and bleed and frenzy...so maybe 30ish or so.
Also, it was the second to last gold star I got on standard mode...so I had pretty much every legendary weapon for the standard mode.

Now, I'm curious how it is in New Game+ for hero mode... -shudder-

One other thing though - while their upper level skills can be useful, for bosses it's best to focus on Slak's Flurry and Ketta's Rapid Shot. Flurry is 5 hits that hit 'up to 5 foes' with '5 hits total', so if there's only 1 foe, he hits it 5 times. Any skill going for multiple enemies is just...a waste. Also, the Super Sheep ISN'T immune to slow, so abuse that. Don't focus on freezing, just slow. Turn off any fire skills your dragon(s) is/are using so it lasts. And you will have constantly move defenders.

Hope some of this helps =]

Thanks for the hints! And @Developer: it's ok that you don't see if the level fits to you, it makes fun to go visit places again and check out whether you can beat them now. The sheep just seemed to be far too strong, that's why I startet a thread.

The sheep was somewhat inspired by the Ruby and Emerald Weapons from FF VII, if that gives any context for the difficulty. :)

I did this on the hero play through fairly easy, I put the dragon on killing sheep (potential waste, but his fire cancels frost and she is so expensive to keep summoning - disable fire attacks if you buff her).
The idea was to keep the sheep as slow as possible, bleed it up, and as soon as your melee (Warrior and Knight) can no longer hit it, un-summon and move along. Keep the frost mage in distance (with as much points into skills that add chill) and make sure you have a healer using zeal (max inspire) to buff your damage. Don't worry too much about the archer having the inspire buff, only move her once or twice as you won't have enough PSI to rebuff the other classes.

I killed Super Sheep at L28 on my first playthrough, and Super Sheep+ (50M HP) at L60 (197 gold stars).

Chill, bleed and poison will be vital in raising your DPS.
Ice Mage - max chill to 65% effectively giving you 3 times as long to kill it.
Berserker - max bleed to 60% - every hit after does bonus damage
Healer - max Inspire - boosts damage by all units in range by 34%
Archer - Poison shot and Sharpshooter
Knight - Ignore Armour Pierce / Break. Knights will do higher damage per hit than Berserkers but not hit as fast.
Dragon - Disable fire attacks - they counter ice mage chill which is FAR more effective.

Playing normal (not Hero mode) creep 2 berserkers and 1 knight along the edge, ice mage behind to support and healer casting zeal to boost everyone. Archers positioned to cover the longest path of the sheep. 1 berserker on the right path (2 for NG+) will deal with the basic sheep and provide the flow of Psi to keep levelling up your heroes. Withdraw units that are out of range and move along the line.

I'm not certain that's neccesary. It seems like only the boss levels have this problem, all the others seemed to have good progression. I beat the Super sheep by shuffling all my heroes along (was going for hero mode) with the Ice Mage blocking the sheep. It was pretty close, but I got it in the end.

Don't you suppose when they reveal the enemy level that it should be a good comparison to the players level?
