Defender's Quest: Valley of the Forgotten

Defender's Quest: Valley of the Forgotten

Don't think, just buy the freekin game already!
Its an awesome game with lots of depth, awesome music, and lots of replaybility. The game is a breath of fresh air as it offers many unique elements, I literally spent hours playing the game with out getting off the computer.

It is much better than it looks/sounds, so instead of asking if the game is any good try the demo!

Enjoy! :D

lol, I played the demo, halfway through I decided to check what the system specs are.. I'm sure I can run this on my netbook.... This is such a fun game, I bought it right away, and thank golly for exported saves :)
It's really awesome game!
Well worth the price. I don't really see the similarities with Final Fantasy Tactics much but still have found the game enjoyable.
I couldn't agree more. It's so addicting. I've played about 20 hours so far and loved every minute of it.
I wish I had more time to play! Its such a fantastic game! Hopefully tomorrow I'll be spending more time with this babe!
Jep, agreed. Love this game. Actually the first game I had to try a demo before I bought it, but man, it's so worth it! :)
I was about to give it a rest after about 20 hours on the main game. Then I started playing the New Game + and realized there was extra content- new missions, new funny cutscenes and the journal... addicted all over again..!

Haha, sorry about that Jinx! ;-)
This game is a blast! I have been on an indie game kick lately, but this is probably the most fun I've had with any of them. I will definitely be spending lots of time enjoying this one. Grats to the developers on a super fun game, with just the right amount of character development and decisions to make.

I have never been a huge fan of tower defense, but this one sure hits the spot, and is different enough to make it not really feel like tower defense.

Hoopla!

That's awesome, thanks FroBodine! I can't tell you how many times we hear "I don't really like tower defense but..." or "I thought I was burned out on tower defense until...". It really makes us feel special. :-)
I'm not a big fan of TD's either! but this one rocks! BUT I have a full list of constructive criticism like being forced to use the accessibility options to avoid grinding, I think the game should not require any grinding, and some levels should have a level cap/tweaking, some classes like the archer are pretty over powered and the list goes on!

The definition of "grinding" is interesting. We actually tried to design (most) of the game to require 0 grinding, and it's only from super hardcore players that we introduced the really challenging stuff that requires grinding for some players. But for our definition of "grinding" we considered it to be playing the exact same level and difficulty repeatedly. Going back and playing a map on a higher difficulty is not considered "grind" by us since the enemies are entirely different - yes, it's the same map, but it's a different battle. Using that definition, you should be able to pretty much complete the normal game and just about all stars with no grinding at all, and probably even most of the New Game+. At least, that's our goal!

Archers actually have been nerfed a bit from the earlier builds, but definitely are one of the strongest units still.

Anyway, glad you're enjoying it! :)
I don't consider going back to levels on higher difficulties grinding, When I started NG+ I thought its impossible for me to progress, so I went to the accessibility menu and maxed my xp/money gain.

I won't say I'm a TD expert, but by the time I finished NG+ I still had most of my party stuck on lvl 45 and I already finished most of the levels on 3 stars. Now I have to grind for the harder levels in order to finish the game 100%. So If I didn't increase my XP gain from the beginning in NG+ it would of took me a crazy amount of hours to grind! o.o

And I'm glad to see some people still making good old sprites and unique game play! Gives me hope that being a programmer will be more fun than I expect it to be :P
