Book of Secrets update - Solving the mystery.
When you load up the game, there's now a button that awards you a Book of Secrets. When you equip it, it adds a new location on the map with eyes, fingers and teeth. When you go to certain menus, battles or cutscenes in the game, it flashes. Anyone up for trying to crack the mystery? What have you guys learned so far?

ADMIN EDIT: To organize this a bit, let's use the wiki!

in the mission cutsceen for "Royal Record Room" the guy says borne instead of born. The "E" may be importent for something. Havent found anything else yet though.

I think it would be rather unmeant typo, as 'E' isn't standing out in any way I think? Though keys in strange monument location are exactly in amount matching letters of alphabet. Was trying to press some sentences for fun but with - as expected - no luck. ;)

Maybe we should just compile a list of every cutscene / menu / battle that has flashes with the book equipped.

In the Battle of the Royal Records Room, when you start you hear a sound and a red star blink once in the upper left. Also, all psi stars in this battle also appear red.

I'm thinking something is important here, possibly getting a full PSI bar?

The upper teeth seem to be old persian cuneiform and the lower teeth ugaritic cuneiform.

EDIT: as for "borne", it shows up twice. I doubt it's a typo.

The mysterious location's buttons correspond to keyboard commands - The lower buttons are A-Z (as you can check by typing), the fingers are 1-0, the flute is space (and the longer sound I presume would be a dash), and the eyes seem to correspond to arrow keys.

One code is hidden in the tips (it claims to not be a code but doesn't make a convincing argument), and given the arrow keys, a common favorite happens to also be a code.

Unfortunately this only gives me two out of what is hopefully nine secrets. I still have no idea what's happening in the Royal Records Room -- the only notable thing I can add is that starting the level on expert seems to hint at two secrets -- I'm guessing something is hidden in the monster pattern for the expert, something else is hidden in the map (thus applying for all difficulties), and a code might be hidden (or just be hinted) in the preceding cutscene.

Ok, I was sceptic, cause when you mentioned royal records room and i checked it I didn't know what kind of flashing you all mean and didn't notice it at all. Sorry!

Confirming tips code. What do you mean by common favorite about those arrows?
blackguard Nov 29, 2013 @ 2:24pm
I'm guessing he meant the Konami code, but I tried entering it and nothing happened.

thanks, I didn't know Konami code. Worked. i'm not sure if arrows work by typing [as they don't light up]. try using eyes of monument in code by clicking.

Cheers.

Let me just edit this whole thing. I wasn't reading carefully, blame the time of night. Thanks for the tips metaphor, they work.

One more hint in Endless 2. It has to be something with the design of the level, the "running dude" pattern, right? In other words, no clue, but it blinks.

Endless 2 pattern might be a cactuar, if that rings anybody's bells.
Lin Nov 29, 2013 @ 4:27pm
YES! It works. The hint is cactuar, or rather cactuar's special shot. Google is your friend.

I still can't figure out the hint code D:
