Will Planetside 2 Run on Ultra with this?
I have a crappy cpu and gpu.
Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-3220 CPU @ 3.30GHz
If I upgrade my graphics card to a gtx 650 ti boost 2 gb will i be able to run PS2 on ultra?

Probably not. You will need something more like 670. Depends on the resolution. Also the CPU may not be enough, PS2 is very CPU heavy.

I have that card and it runs the game quite well. It won't net you ultra and you need to do a few trips through the graphics options to get the best quality for performance but it's a good card.

The fan speed seems to be limited to about 75% on mine, so there's a heads-up in case you planned on overclocking at some point.

This is the second decade of the 21st century. The game is beautiful even on lower settings.

Here's a screenie of my graphics settings along with some notes:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=181308695
1.) GPU Particle Quality relates to PhysX and is off because PhysX is currently buggy in PS2.
2.) Graphics quality I usually have on low because it produces a very grainy effect on lighting when it's at or above medium. I overclocked my processor recently so this is likely the cause as I don't remember the glitch before I OC'd.
3.) Shadows are off because they take a huge CPU-related performance hit when they're on, especially in large battles(they are no issue for the card, but for my processor)
4.) Motion blur and fog shadows are pretty much just for epeen status; they are barely noticable and often annoying during actual gameplay so they are off.

tl;dr yes, it'll run the game on mostly high settings. If you have to lower any settings, 90% of the time it'll be because of your processor. I know pretty much nothing about intel but I think if you're around 3.5GHZ you're good to go.

cpu not enough / gpu will on an older 1024.. To play on 1080 id get a 660 ti minimum, and at least dual core i5.. you may get away with HIGH though..

Planetside 2 is a very CPU intensive game, beefy CPU needed.

Do this since you have a Nvidia GPU. download 327.23 WHQL then run Geforce Experience, you going to see a big old refresh icon, hit that & it will look for your game. once it did that click on Optimized & that it. since i had a 650 Ti Boost 2GB it can run this game on Ultra around 40fps to 60fps with PhysX on but again you need a better GPU for this game if you want to run it on Ultra since PhysX need a powerful GPU to handle at high res settings.
