Hey Adventurers and Adventuresses,

This week we focused on the performance issue that a few of you are experiencing. It’s quite hard for us to figure it out since they seem to be quite rare - we cannot reproduce these issues in-house.

We are REALLY thankful for all the information and logs that you have provived us. We are gamers as well - we know how frustrating it is to buy and game and not having it work perfectly. You kept a cool head and went through the busywork to get us the information we need - so thank you very much.

We made performance improvements across the board, so please let us know if this is having any impact in your problems. We have a crack team of Unity parachuting engineers that skydived to help us figure out what is wrong, so do not lose hope :-)

We has also started doing new stuff, so expect news about cool future additions to the game in a few weeks!

Fixed a few missing colliders in the game
Fixed a bug that would cause challenge Cursed Grounds to not work properly
Fixed a bug that would cause challenge Spawn-o-rama to not work properly
Fixed a bug where Ping should would not show on non-english versions of Windows
Fixed a bug that would cause all of Rogue Archer’s charged attacks to be considered Criticals
Fixed a bug that would cause Challenge announcements to not appear on client machines
Fixed a bug that would cause Challenge announcements to not appear on hot join
Fixed a bug that would cause the achievement Cake Made of Pain to not be unlocked.
Fixed a bug where monsters would view the walls of The Log Simulator as targets
Fixed a bug where monsters would view the ice blocks as targets
Fixed a bug where players could walk out by the end of the Log Simulator Ride

*Improvements and Optimizations*
General performance improvements in the order of 15%
Improved performance of AI code, especially bots
Improved GUI's dynamic memory consumption
Improved the animation system's dynamic memory consumption
Improved mud/feces effect
Improved Challenge feedback
Improved visual feedback of Critical Rogue projectiles
Challenges now show up on the Pause Menu

*Gameplay/Balance*
Possession Ability Evil Heal now heals only other monsters, not the Possessed one
Rogue Archer Critical chance (Power Shot) set to 0.08
Rogue Archer Critical chance (Regular Shot) set to 0.04
Rogue Archer Critical damage (Power Shot) set to 60
Rogue Archer Critical damage (Regular Shot) set to 48

Hmm didn't know that the auto-crit from the Archer's Power Shot was a bug... it felt really strong for sure, but sad to see it go. Other then that, continued thanks for work to improve the performance. Many were having issues on forums. Looking forward to see what new stuff comes in the future.
Awesome job, good to hear you guys are still going hard at it. I'm going to start this baby up and see if I can actually play online now!

EDIT:

The game is now PLAYABLE for me, which is great. It still has loads of issues, and the match was cut short, but I just had a blast being a DM for a bit, and no, I didn't go ahead and obliterate the party :)

Awesome but how am I meant to get the tutorial achievement when the tutorial won't activate or start on any level? Also, what about a fix for the possession achievement?
There is glitch/bug I have seen when joining a game it happenes very rarly but it makes it so health bars are constantly changing like the names and what not is it's like a pile of whit text over a constantly green health bar and this only happens when I join someone elses game
Ping still doesn't show up... It's just empty. I'm using a french version of windows 7 x64. I guess the bug is not fixed

ive had this game since its release and saw how it grew from a great idea that i wish could run on my capable pc to a really smooth game with a lot of potentiontal, its been playing much smoother from us with high end pc's. Thank you to the team supporting this game, ive been gifting it like crazy as it continues to get more support. more items soon?
Nice update. I was just whining to the heroes I was killing (My family) that if they didn't stop using Archer with the heal on crit perk, I was going to turn up the difficulty.

Thank you again for working hard and fast on the most annoying bugs/balance issues. Keep up the good work. Or I will spam Dire Ducks at you...
Still experiencing the memory leak or whatever is causing the 5 frames a second slowness while playing as dungeon master. Usually kicks in within 10 minutes of the first game.
Awesome! Can't wait to play tonight.

In other news: My poor Archer subclass!!! :(

Nice patch, fixes up some problems, you guys keep up the good work.
A bug that happened to me a few times during an online session:

Music playback. The music theme for the "heroes defeated " (music for the screen that shows the session play time and the heroes skulls) kept playing even after I got back to the main menu. So, there was two songs playing at the same time. The only way I found to make it stop is restarting the game.

Bots don't seem to be any better, they keep dodging into walls over and over till they die, I remember them being a challenge. Maybe you set them to dodge too much XD

im under a similar oppion, to spend a second or two charging a shot being able to crit was a good reward as you can't move either, now the damage difference to just shooting the bow 3-4 times quickly is bearly even notable other than a piercing effect. Now your only going to get people using guns or daggers as they got more damage output and easier to use.

could have either made the charge slightly longer, or even slightly reduce the crit heal so it cant be abbused as much.
