Noudaism - The game does have multiplayer. I have not played the multiplayer, however, so I cannot comment on it.
The multiplayer is good and solid and I found it more interesting than the SP on a several of the maps once I'd worked out the AI behaviour. However, there isn't an integrated lobby system so it is harder to find opponents if you don't have friends who want to play against you (you create a game, then are given a code which you pass on to the other player for them to connect). A few of the maps really don't work well in multiplayer, however, since the defender doesn't have a lot to do (but yet can be useful for teaching a new player without them having to face the hard AI right away!).
I've played a few maps in multiplayer and found it to be tremendously fun.
The game does not have a game browser or anything like that. The only way you can play multiplayer is if you can arrange it via direct connection with someone you already know that's willing to play.
X2 I think that is not really clear for people who haven't played the game. "direct connection" implies that you need to host and play with forwarded ports on your router, and the other person has to connect to your IP address, which is something which many people are unable, or unwilling, to do for many reasons. In UoC, you get a unique code for the game and either player can join at any time to play their turns on the server (you don't both have to be connected at the same time even).
Its such a shame they didint made better multiplayer, I hope they will its very good game + scenario editor is the best thing in the game lol, u can actually make what ever u want lol :D
