Game works ok with no controller. You mean, PS2/USB controllers don't work with the game? That's sad.
Also, hgow is this actually a rhythm game? isn't it a bit overstated?
Thanks that helped some but it still crashes and gets choppier and choppier the longer the game is running.
And yeah I guess it's more of a timing game but there are similarities between them.
I really hope this gets sorted out.
PS: no crash or real freeze for me though.
Well there you have it. The game runs identically on both a GTX 660 and an Intel chipset. Devs can we now have an explanation or excuse or anything?
Anyway, hope this helps.
What's a wii u :3?
Using the CPU Frequency Scaling Monitor for Gnome/MATE panel to adjust it to performance, I did see some improvements. It does play better but it still gets really choppy the longer you play and it still locked up. It's helpful but I think there's another missing piece of the puzzle.
I can't tell if you're joking or not but here's the wiki article.

Windows - AMD Catalyst: perfect
Linux (Ubuntu 13.10) - AMD Catalyst: lagfest, unplayable even without Vsync
then I updated to Linux 3.12 due to the ondemand scheduler performance fix.
It is flying now. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥...
