Well, guess i wasted 10 dollars on this garbage, the default controls are a nightmare. Sigh...

They aren't a nightmare, you just have to adapt.

the kick button is fine but the shield mapping is horrible all the options for shield are DIRECTLY next to another button used with shield. It's hard to glide +shield using B+A (held) and it's hard to alternate Ducking and shield when using the dpad. Alternating them based on the situation ruins flow of the game for many people and ads artifical difficulty. The most frustrating sections of the game I have experience PERIOD have been because of this.

Right with the joystick = shield, not that difficult.

Newman it's not difficult but it ruins the flow of the game because instead of instinct you have to decide which one to use because you cannot use just one of the blocking controls for every situtation easily.

In the air you have to use the thumbstick because while possible it's difficult to block a shot on the ground then do a glide and continue to block because the keys are right next to each other.

On the ground you generally have to use B to block because alternating blocking and ducking on the control stick can lead to finicky responses where you stop sliding early or the shield just doesn't come out.

It doesn't hamper the original playthrough that much because yes you do adapt but it hinders the replayability because it's not fun to hit obstacles due to controls being touchy.

Especially when there are two unused buttons that could easily be shield.

Each to his own. I never used B for blocking, found the stick much more smooth to use.
