Not a fan of the slide jump
I don't know about any of you guys but I am really not liking the new slide jump mechanic. Unless you are sliding before you jump it is extremely finicky to use. I tested it out and if you try to press jump at the same time as slide then you will fail it about half the time. I was having a lot of fun with this game and once this mechanic was introduced i found myself holding slide for pretty much entire levels.

Does anyone else feel the same about this mechanic?

Then just... slide before jumping? I mean, you point out the solution to a problem your having right in your post.

And I've always usually held slide for most of the levels, even in the first one, since both Kick and Jump take precendence and still activate even when holding slide.

It's a bit hard to get used to, and jumps are harder because you think your hitbox is further forward than it actually is. Slide-Jumping works the same as Jumping normally, in height & distance. You can start/stop sliding in mid-air whenever you want, as many times you want.
Practice makes Perfect+!
(Also, I find myself dancing more than sliding)

Personally, I like the new mechanics. Slide jumps seem to be shorter and require more precision in the timing compared to normal jumps, but I like the variety! :)

You don't have to hold slide for an entire level. You can start sliding mid-jump if you're late in realizing you need to slide jump, so what's your problem?

... I don't get it. The slide-jump works perfectly fine.

I hate the slide jump mechanic also its ♥♥♥♥ing annoying for me and the slide kick (I'm going to hate them more if I ever get to world 3 or higher)
