Can we remove motion blur?
Just wonderin if that possible, I didn't see an option for it in the options, and it would look alot better without it.

I'm not sure if that's what is causing it to strain my eyes so badly, but I wouldn't mind getting rid of motion blur anyway.

I never had this issue with the first, but this game is incredibly blurry to the point where I can't play it for more than maybe an hour at a time.

It's not my monitor either as I have a high quality Samsung 120hz monitor that hasn't had issues in other 2d indie games with similar styles.

Yeah theres definetley motion blur "probably for optimization on consoles" but I personally would love an option to turn it off for that very reason

Well, an inherent issue is that given the motion of everything, there isn't necessarily any motion blur, but the effect may be caused by the reaction time of the LCD display, which in any case cannot be perfect and therefore will give at least a slight blur. That's something there's nothing we can do about.

However I'm not saying that there definitely isn't any motion blur, I really don't know, and if there is, I don't know how strong it is and if it dominates the LCD display induced blur.

If there is motion blur, I would like to get it removed too, or at least having an option to do so.

I'm pretty positive its motion blur. I don't have anything like that happen in my other games. Unless they have motion blur turned on.

It's not motion blur, your eyes just can't follow up. This game was obviously made for a much smaller/faraway screen. This could be fixed when adjusting the FOV (greater) or camera distance (further back).

Or well, grab a controller and move away from your screen, that should help too, but eleminates one of the PCs advantages.

I know people are saying some LCD's have bad response time which leads to ghosting, but mine is listed as 2ms, which is pretty quick and as such should have no ghosting.

I tested with other fast moving games and it had no issues with ghosting, so I don't understand why it's just this game.

I don't really think it's a hardware issue on my end.

Game is blurry as ♥♥♥♥, makes it difficult to play. I don't know why people insist it's monitor tech causing it, when every game BUT Runner 2 doesn't have extremely blurry foregrounds.

I too have noticed there is an abnormal amount of blurring. I would really like to have an option to turn it off. Also has anyone else noticed a tonne of screen tearing when you turn vsync off?
Ejaculation Otter Feb 27, 2013 @ 7:35pm
Yeah it is for sure not our monitors, it was most likely put in as optimization for consoles.

I think it's peoples' monitors. I don't have any blurring except for what I notice when I play music games at high speeds.

I usually tend to turn v-sync off in games but Runner 2 is an exception. The screen tearing is so bad that I had to turn it back on. Why is it even an option then?

Sometimes you don't get screen tearing. It depends on your computing power and monitor's sync rate. In fact, it could slow down the game's framerate if you left it on. Then someone else would come in complaining there's no option to turn it off. Also, I think it's on by default.

It's your monitor. I don't see any motion blur at all.

Yeah, I can't tell if its Ghosting or Motion Blur, but holy hell. Like the enemies streak and blur quite a bit.

I had extreme motion blur when i played the game, trust me it wasn't my eyes. A solution I found to this was I forced antialiasing (32x CSAA) using my graphics card settings to get rid of the jaggies and for some reason most of the motion blur is gone now too. I suggest doing the same.
