Slowness in Linux version

Is anyone else seeing really bad lag when playing on Linux? The game runs flawlessly on my Windows partition on the same PC, but stutters enough to make it almost unplayable on Linux. I checked the FAQ, but turning down the resolution and turning off depth doesn't make a difference.

Setup:
Radeon HD 7850
8 Gigs DDR3 ram
AMD A10-5800K processor

Figures. I wait forever to post this and then immediately find a solution. Looks like Unity was causing the trouble. I installed Steam-Login(https://github.com/thor27/steam-login) which strips out the main desktop and uses xfce in the background. The game now runs just as smoothly in Linux as it does in Windows.

I have the same problem. Unity is that slow? I though it was the Nvidia restricted video drivers. I can´t believe the same game runs at half speed on linux.

Unity was pretty slow in 12.04, but it has improved alot in 13.04 (tho personaly I perfer MATE)

Game actually has some micro stutters, and they appear quite regularly. Happens with both vsync enabled and disabled.

ArchLinux, Openbox, i5-3570, GTX660.

I experience micro stutter as well. It runs well most of the time but frequently stops very briefly. It happens in both the regular and the "retro" levels.

After playing some more it seems to happen at particular times in the music loop. Maybe when it restarts the loop?

I'm getting weird lag on Linux too, this game seems pretty CPU heavy even though it shouldn't be.

Stop using crappy operating systems and use the only OS worth using on PC (especially if you are a gamer).. Windows 7
