Nethergate: Resurrection

Game Broke Me
*Gets ready to roleplay making some sexy characters*

*Starts the game only to be asked to read a note, which, upon trying to do, is impossible because the character in question has a "Rational Mind."*

*Has 1 party member without that trait but is utterly quivering in dissapointment at how absurdly stupid that concept is*

Having a rational mind means you refuse to read words written on paper.

Look, I've played Avadon and Geneforge, neither had this retarded concept in character creation.

As soon as that event occured I just had to exit the game, broken, due to logic being too ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the booty.

I just don't see how I could possibly be immersed now that I would have to either not have the rational mind trait or live with the fact that I have to read all notes with 1 character in my party because the other 3 have "rational minds."

I'm sorry, maybe it's nitpicking, but it's just so stupid.

Your post made me laugh. Not to mention that I see no reason this doesn't work from a roleplaying perspective. Yeah, 3 of your characters can't read magical notes, so only the one guy can read them. There is basically no in-game penalty for this other than clicking a guy's portrait. Also, did you make a Celt party? You made a Celt party where three of the characters don't believe in magic? I don't remember reading a note with my Romans.

I guess I'm just saying I think you're wrong.

I understood what the trait does. The problem is that my rational thinkers cannot read regular, non-magical, pieces of paper.

That's what broke me.

3 Romans with Rational Thinking and the Celt in my party was a Druid or whatever.
