Anna's graphics settings freezing on startup
Whenever I boot up the game it brings up two windows, a frozen "Anna" window which is supposed to be the graphics quality selector apparently, and a needless registration/launcher window. I can't change the graphics very well if the game just freezes it up all the time can I? Anyone else have this problem?

And before anyone mentions the 4 graphics options in the game itself, that's not what i'm talking about. The screenshots I see seem to have a much higher quality texture work compared to what i'm seeing where everything is blurry and detailess.

Idk how to fix it but I am having the exact same problem

That's the graphics options? You know, I thought my game looked a bit crap compared to the screenshots. The game doesn't crash but that window is always blank. Clicking on it does nothing either since it'll just say it's not responding.

Well that was absolutely no help. I know the issue .. i just dont know how to get the main screen to respond. my game load too but before i get to any options it just closes the program because it doesnt respond.... I re-installed the game, updated drivers, deleted crap off my computer.. nothing ...

Did you successfully register in the launcher window and proceed through the registration process? Otherwise, the Anna window will stay unresponsive until you complete it .

I did, it didn't seem to make a difference. Once the window hitched up, it seemed to remain that way. I could launch the game but couldn't use that settings window.

Still waiting. No reply to my email either. Don't really want to continue playing whilst the game looks like it's running on a Nintendo 64.

The graphic settings can be changed in the options menu in the game itself.

Still not fixed. Settings window is still a blank box...

I'm having the same issue. Ingame texture quality is terrible and i get the non responsive box opening when i launch the game (didnt know it was config though) all ingame settings are maxed.

i5 750 @4.2Ghz
8 GB ram
2x asus GTX670 TOP
Win 7 x64.

System is more then capable, not touching this until i can crank the visuals.

I am getting this issue as well. I can change the resolution in-game, but not texture quality or anything else.

Atleast you can get in game. I freeze up at the loading screen right after "Anna" pops up on screen. I've had issues with steam games crashing on start up but I tell Windows it installed properly and it works from then out.
To piggy back off another topic here - with a useless login and a game that freezes, this game is useless to me.... I was really looking forward to playing it too =[

Hello!

We're going to release a new GIGANTIC patch, not just a bug fix, but a sort of complete rework of the game: if will feel like a new game, and for free :)

It will also provide far better setting solutions and will fix that annoying problem where it cannot start on some monitors. We're very sorry for these problems, but I'm sure you'll love the new update :) It makes the game more than twice as big!

I got a fast workaround for you who have problems with the monitor resolution, while you kindly wait for the patch:
If you go to your registry (run regedit), go to the key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Dreampainters\Anna

In there you will find a couple of values called:
Screenmanager Resolution Height_<SOME_NUMBER>
Screenmanager Resolution Width_<SOME_NUMBER>

Double click on each on them and put these values (click "decimal" before writing):
Width: 800
Height: 600

This should run the game with a very low resolution. Then You'll be able to adjust it in game, through the "Resolution" option in the main manu option panel.

Thanks for you patience!!

Thank you for responding! It's great when devs hear the players.
