Best game I've played since Legend of Grimrock came out.
This is Diablo (1) on steroids. Great game! Highly recommended. Might be too simple and dull for graphics folk but if you ever wished the first Diablo would of been updated then your wish has been granted. If anything it's a bit too easy unless you select features to raise the challenge level (of which there are many including Hardcore).

I suspect you might have opened the console window? Try pressing the '~' key to close it. Normally the key beside the '1' key on the keyboard.

I think the game would autosave at certain points in the game. So hopefully your 3 hours of play would not have been lost too much.

floccipocci is correct. That sounds like the console which you can open and close with the ~ key and yes the game auto saves every few minutes.

Yup that was what it was. I changed my post to reflect my feelings about the game. thanks

yup i have the same feelings about this game too. i am a diablo 1 fan too. not diablo 2.
i still remember the time i tried diablo 2 when it first came out during beta and find it not as fun as 1, like it lost something.
Din's curse gave me the thing that 2 lacks and improve 1 alot with new features and mechanics.

I think diablo 1 is good because of its background music and the old school sounds when u activate a trap, open a coffin, kill a monster, get injured, cast a spell. i love old school stuff!
i personally like the graphics and i find 2 or 2.5d graphics has better gameplay then 3d games.

Good job Steven. yr games are worth every penny. Pls update more on Din's curse and bring drox operative to steam!

I still miss the music and cain's welcome, along with the equipment seller and the witch (can't think of their names!). In fact, the only thing missing from Din is the Diablo music and talking npcs. But the improvements are glorious and almost overwhelming at times. I love how the events in the game tie in to the quests. It really adds a feature to questing and I love the many modes you can check our not check depending on how much of a challenge you want. The randomness of the one town is so varied each time you roll a new one and I like that you can set the play modes each time depending on your mood. I could go on....and on..and on. :)

Griswold and Adria, come on, they're in every diablo or at least have mentions in all of em

Ya that's it! You'd think I'd remember but it's been 15 years since I played and I skipped the sequels for the most part but considering I sometimes forget my name these days it's not surprising! :)
