Best hybrids
So far defender/magician seems like my favorite... besides the stupidly broken archerx2 lol. also really curious if anyone has taken def/mage into late game im only about 15 so far but the theory seems valid... tankyness from def tree with plate and shield (mana on block wut), and practically every magician skill seems useful for off and/or def, any more good suggestions?

I haven't tested hybrids yet, so I cannot comment, but I'm wondering why the archer build is so strong, do you mean two times the archer skill tree? What makes it so OP? (haven't played the ranger class yet)

when going with hybrids, your passive skills stack.... so you get a ton of both defense and attack from dex first, 2x the crit / def passives, the shoot fast (forgot name) can have 2 seperate cooldowns.... its just broken (in a good way! lol)

and I haven't tested regular classes yet, ^_^ necro was what got me into the game (necro/healer specifically also fun but minion upkeep is a little annoying because anything under an elite will die quickly and anything besides raise dead is practically paper)

Thief/Druid-This class is the most interesting class in the game. With alot of passives, you can essentially just use your regular attack from stalker form. You will be so fast and deal so many criticals and deep wounds that it will make your head spin. Fastest class in the game however not for beginners as you need to find a good dagger. Dagger mastery is your friend. You might be able to use Assassin/druid here instead as the defense bonus from stalker will cancel the low defense. Any passive mastery class can use the druid with stalker form. Weaponmaster might work.

This build seriously owns and the one I have had the most successful with and gotten the furthest with. To be fair it is also probably the most boring of the builds but for the most part you can run around and nearly 1-2 shot mobs and just stroll on through.

Archer/Weaponmaster: Okay this is an old thread, but I have come up with a hybrid I think works brilliantly. Love archery. Odd combo but stacks nicely. Archer/Weaponmaster- WTF right? But the Weaponmaster rage mana gain for all successful hits is so much better than the archer's elation (crits only). Plus I was disappointed by the fact archer is a DEX player but gets no deep wound chance bonus- the weaponmaster has just that! Plus I have the cat like dodge of an archer AND I can wear mail!

Hmm... old thread, but there isn't enough discussion around here, so I'll post. :)

The easiest hybrids that I've played are the ones that stack the stat bonuses, so both characters get a bonus from Intelligence, Dexterity, Strength, etc. That way you can spam that stat and end up with a more awesome character.

My brother loves the defender/mage combo, but the armor stat seems to kinda loose it's benefit in higher levels. That might just be an issue of armor quality though. I have a defender/reaver (lvl 58) that is starting to struggle, he hardly gets hurt by most attacks but gets one hit killed a LOT. It seems armor is less effective against critical hits and the like.

These are my favorite Hybrids:

Hunter/Thief (lvl 53): Stacking the trap disarming skills means thousands of free XP, and no more blasted fall traps just as you find that stupid weather machine! It works on barrels, mushrooms, and even those green gas vents on the ground. The combined defense bonus means he hardly gets hit, and the trap skills are an awesome way to flatten groups of enemies when you get out-numbered.

Healer/Necromancer (lvl 43): I'm spamming the raise dead skill and just got to where I can raise 3 minions at a time. I love hunting for good champions to raise, seeing how the monster bonuses stack in awesome ways. The scavengers steal bonuses from corpses so if you can get one of them to eat a boss they become unstoppable! Then you just follow them with the area heal skill and watch them shred through enemies. Plus it's hilarious watching the goofy personalities of the various monsters. Same thing goes for the Warlock, but I find it easier for him to just re-summon monsters rather than mess with healing them.

Hunter/Fire or Ice Mage (lvl 20): It's nice to add the elemental bonus to the trap skill so it does even crazier amounts of damage. I went with the Ice Mage as my other hunters only focus on the fire trap. Same thing goes for an Archer/Elemental hybrid too (ie spamming fire arrows with the fire mage).

Dual Elemental (lvl 32): I have a Fire Mage/Fire Mage. Stacking the passives makes the character very deadly. This one just completed his first 100 wave town because of his dual maelstrom skills he could wipe out the waves before they had a chance to move. He dies like crazy though, mostly from blowing himself up.

I have several more, haven't decided which are my favorites though. My Druid/Thief is only level 12 now but he seems to have potential, like the other guy said.

Trickster/Magician was going great (stealth + attack, flash + stealth, repeat) until about lvl 15, now hes getting owned :(

Edit: nevermind, think the world level was just set to high.
Flash + teleport are nice for getting out of sticky situations when you get swamped or Aoed etc.
