I have to say that I think allot of the 'frustrations' mentioned in the reviews are resolved by the patch. I find it a decent game. 7/10
Wizminkey 15 nov 2012 à 13h20
The Metacritic reviews are based on the launch version on PS3, after which they patched most of the bugs, as SendMoreCops mentioned. Metacritic only tracks first review scores, and will not remove scores or adjust them no matter how drastically a game shifts due to updates.

It's a decent adventure game. I'd recommend it to other Whovians, but don't expect to have a blockbuster on your hands.

I'm sorry, just...no. BBC can get away with making an quirky, cheap, hilariously bad SFX'd mythos into a worldwide cult following, but they should never, ever, EVER make a game out of this. Unless it's one massive game about escaping The Library or the Angels. Talk about awesome horror genre, I'd pay through the nose to have an in-depth game inspired by either or both of those episodes, but some third party, random, discount bin game for Doctor Who? No. Just...BBC? Stahp.

You have no idea what you're talking about. There are 5 other (modern) Doctor Who games already (and one or two from decades ago). And the five 'modern' ones are pretty good games in spite of low budget. Haven't played *this* one just yet, but this one was commercially released on multiple platforms, at a 'normal budget game' price point (whereas the 5 other 'modern' ones were released *free* in the UK through bbc's website, and even as free games they're good), so they had to put work into it.
Mr Moondance 15 nov 2012 à 23h07
Yeah i was looking at those other games, but them at $7 and this one at $8 would make a total of $43 for all 6 games and I'm not sure if their all worth that much...? What do you guys think?

I actually have this on my ps3, it's crap. ♥♥♥♥ animations, don't expect anything from the enemies on the screens, the same puzzles are being reused over and over, oh and the cybermen look like they were made out of plastic.
Mat Cauthon 16 nov 2012 à 13h05
They look like plastic on the show, frankly. Not that I can blame them, they need a lot and metal costs money.
Paullo 16 nov 2012 à 23h44
For anyone on the fence, the game isn't bad, it's just extremely unremarkable. Like, probably a 4 or 5 out of 10 for a fair reviewer. The PS3 version launched with a lot of bugs, but most seem to have been fixed for the Steam release.

As a Doctor Who fan, I quite enjoyed it, even with the bugs. Set your expectations super low and you might be surprised.
