RE5 Crash on DX10(Fix)

been at all night and found a simple solution if anyone having this issue.
DISABLE "In-game Community" via Resident Evil 5 properties

I've played for 2 days without any crash, and today it keeps crashing. Also the community thing fixes absolutely nothing.

try updating DirextX / Video card driver update, guess issue is different for every person. the ingame community was the reason for my crash

It's the Platform Update that Microshit released.

Having CTDs with Stalker Clear Sky.

Basically anything DX10 will just turn to ♥♥♥♥.

ppl confirm the issue is a "Platform Update for Windows 7 x64-Edition (KB2670838)" derps up DX10 and lol.... my logs says published and install FEB.26 as a nessecary update but windows is saying published FEB 27 and now OPTIONAL update. Just uninstall the update and your pc/games will run back to normal.

This makes me think if they're even going to bother investigating it.
Other thing, DXdiag still reports Win7 as DX11 not 11.1.

I've just run Unigine Heaven in DX10 without a problem. 3D Mark Vantage was also fine which is DX10.
Those being synthetic benchmarks don't emulate real world gameplay so they may not call upon the same API functions that a game is required to use. Which maybe why they didn't crash on me.

That makes me think that there may not be that much of a problem with the platform update itself and that Nvidia and Amd need to play catch up.

As I found with Stalker Clear Sky forcing it to "run in compatability mode with Win 7" resulted in slower load times and maybe a bit of a performance hit but it worked fine otherwise.

I have the same problem... When I start RE5 in DX10 it will crash... sometimes after 10 seconds... sometimes after 1minute... but it WILL crash...
if i start it in DX9 no crash at all :(

Uninstall windows platform update

ive tried unistalling this update and IE10 the in game community.. everything.. this is only a fix for very few..
