I want to like this game because it's a good game.
But the controls are so clunky, even after getting used to them, and the game is just so TEDIOUS to go through.
Evertime you enter a sector you have a set number of lives, once you lose them you restart the sector from the beginning and have to do EVERYTHING again, that includes the hacking puzzles, killing the enemies playing peek-a-boo behind cover, navgating the obstacles and removing the removable ones which feel like they're there just to ♥♥♥♥ you off.
Unless you're facing only one enemy, getting accidentally hit by a bullet just sets you up for another one or two that are on the way because of the knock-back, and the damaging obstacles like spikes remove 80% of your health.
The problem isn't that the game is difficult, the problem is that it punishes you way too hard for making mistakes that it'll just make you say "screw this game."
Unless you're going to get the game for nostalgia, don't buy it unless you want to suffer a nerve breakdown, even on a very cheap sale like I did.
Screw this game.
Soundtrack is pretty good though, Simon Viklund ftw.
