frustrated with movement & turns (help)
I keep falling short of reaching the enemy attacking my town. I am 1 sq away... yet on my turn I can't move beside the enemy or attack it~ it’s really frustrating because you get no feedback telling you why..what did i miss? How can i tell why i can't attack a target 1 sq away even in a full turn. Another irritating thing is the goblin laugh, it always happens when they move, I've only got about 4 hours in and need to turn that off or i'm done lol...

A little trouble getting use to Turn Based?

One tile or ten ..if yer out of moves/steps your done 'til next Turn.

For those times you just can't get back in time.. "Pillar or Fire", Tornado, Freeze, Tremor..

Or if its early game just leave a few guys/gals stationed in the city, specificaly if there is danger a'foot. Shift them between cities as needed if the roads are working. Slowly build them but andd let them take care of the local yoke'ls while yer off doing the hero thing. 8-)

Better yet, new Heros should be around home clean'n up until they are ready with a few more units. Then all spiffy and spanky ready for the road..

A couple hundred turns in you got 6 or a dozen(small<-->large game) Epic armies rip'n up the world.

Basicaly you need to be one or two steps ahead. You won't be until you've played a game or three. Then you will be able to see a little further ahead and predict a little better.

No sooner do you get into the habit of leaving a couple around.. along comes a slag or dragon and steps on the whole works! ..soggy toast. Grrr..

Then you learn to wip out a carrot. Carrot on a stick? ..send out a scout with "weak" written on thier foreheads a little close to dragon/slag/other and tease them; "eat me" "follow me"..as long and as far as ya like. But if you parked city on thier spot ..they will be back.

Take a hint from standing in front of a train, don't. Or be ready to kill the train. 8-)

Turn-based games are all about planning your strategy ahead. You won't be able to "fix" a problem by zipping around the map like a real time game. Therefore plan your attack/defense appropriately. If you are at war, make sure you have your flanks covered. Defense is easy if you have roads, since you can move armies around easily, but if your only army is on the offensive, don't expect to save your cities when they come under attack.
