Difficulty towards the end
I'm loving this game so far, the concepts and everything feels like it had a lot of thought put into it, the controls are smooth, the puzzles are decently challenging, but not frustrating. All in all, a very nice buy.

However, I'm just getting towards the end of the game (the last 3 or 4 rooms after you get the multi-gun), and I have to admit that these rooms are near impossible to figure out on your own...
I haven't spent a single power orb up to this point, but I had to buy the solution to all of these rooms after sitting there for half an hour trying to figure out what I was supposed to do. And the last room doesn't even have a help thing! :(

I think I know the 2 main problems that led to me getting stuck:

1. The time gate tutorial goes away after you do anything, so I have no idea what it said. I had to figure out how to use the time gate on my own (which was no simple task). That said, I had no idea at all that you could "split" a laser. I only realised how that worked after buying a solution, the entire game I was waiting until I found an item that split it, like a prism or something (becaue of all the pictures of refracting prisms on the walls).

2. All of the puzzles before the multigun work with having only one thing at a time, and there are a lot of those. I got used to solving the puzzles like that. Then all of the sudden the multigun comes into the picture and INSTANTLY makes you go through puzzles using all four guns. That got me real confused, real fast. It wouldn't have been nearly as bad if it started with 2 guns in a puzzle, and worked it's way up to the end.

Well, theres my little rant. Has anyone out there actually managed to solve the final puzzle without looking any videos or anything?

I think your comments on the difficulty curve (wall) are justified.
The time gun and multi gun would benefit from easing you into their puzzles a bit better.
Especially since touching an echo is difficult to avoid, and sending the laser through the time portal doesn't come to mind for a very long time.

Whilst it's a good challenge as it is, I still think a few more introductory time/multi puzzles would improve the game overall.

How do you split a laser? I've got two puzzles & they both seem to require doing so. I have the time suit.

GREEN | BLUE

The time warp gateway gun links the BLUE part to the GREEN part. Like,
1 2 3 4 | 5 6 7 8
if you go in the second portal at time 5, you'll end up in 1. If you go in at 7, you end up in 3.
What does this imply?
If you redirect a laser at 1 to 4 (past), then if the laser goes through the second portal at 5 to 8 (future), then if you also go in through the portal from 5 to 8 (future), then the first laser beam will be redirected as done at 1 to 4 (past), while a second laser beam will be coming through the first portal to 1 to 4 (past) from 5 to 8 (future).

I hope that's understandable.

If you click on the Help part of the menu, you will find three or four parts about the use of the Time Portal.
The part about splitting beams is in there.

Agreed. It got really hard towards the end. But i loved that. Most Portal puzzlers dont touch the potential for really hard puzzles i think. This one did and i appreciate that.

For me, the only hard puzzle was the very last final one.
And this made me feel that there weren't enough hard multi-gun puzzles in the game.

Which is why I'm infinitely happy that the editor is out :D
Although I'm only nudging at the side of the final puzzle's difficulty (maybe my latest map, 007, is on part with it) - it's still nice that you can extend your experience.

Bam, there's nothing wrong with reving and old thread when the reply is relevant.
At the same time, thegevin should have started his own thread since it's off topic.

Yeah, sorry, some guy used this thread to ask his own question, and I replied here :P
Oh god. Please add savepoints into final path, between puzzles. It's so frustrating.
There are tons of totaly useless savepoint everywhere in game, but this place.
