Not sure why, but this is cheaper on xbox.
Even with the sale price of $4 (normally $5) this game is cheaper on 360 at 240 points aka $3. Only catch is you gotta buy increments of $5/400 poitns on xbox. I kinda did want this on steam but I knew id play it with a controller anyways.

Might get burned at the stake for posting this but thoght someone out there might find the information useful.

Fun fact:
Adventures of Shuggy (made by the same developer) is 10 USD on Steam, but on their website you can buy it for 5 and get a Steam key.

Seems their pricings are screwed up everywhere.
Ah well. I don't mind spending a tad more to have it on Steam.

edit: it was fixed. now Shuggy is 5 USD. Get it as well if you haven't :D

LIke I said I wouldnt have minded it on steam but i knew I would play with a controller, and I had some points already. Plus some of these games seem like bad ports. Not sure about this one but there seems to be a number of support threads here.

eh. that applies for every game out there. People always get issues no matter how great the game came out.
I've personally never had problems with any of my Steam games including this one. :\

Is there anything exclusive to Steam? More levels, level editor, leaderboard, etc.

Achievements at least. The Xbox version, being in the Indie Games category, can't have Xbox Achievements.

Ya i think the game is exactly the same aside from steam achievements. Which I'm not big on.

Yeah, the Xbox version is a bit cheaper because people looking at XBLIG games are too tight to pay a reasonable amount for them! I've seen several games release for $1 on XBLIG and $10 on PC. I thought I'd meet somewhere in the middle.

Also, Gateways was designed from the beginning to run on XBox and PC so it wasn't actually ported as such. In fact, the game was released for PC back in June from my website so the PC version has had more testing done on it than the XBox version.

Oh, and I've asked for the price of Shuggy to be dropped to $5 on Steam. It can be hard to co-ordinate these things sometimes.

Thanks for the reply smuged. I see where you're coming from. I bet 90% of xbox players don't even touch XBLIG. I usually dont pay much attention but the indie game uprising always grabs my attention.

They either don't touch it, or they open it once and see so much trash that it becomes a joke to them. It is a shame. There should seriously be some quality control. I rage every time I browse and see exclusively games with "Avatar," "Mine," or "Massage" in the title (I feel like there's another big one I'm forgetting... "zombie" is pretty big, but that's not it), while games like Gateways, Growing Pains, TEC 3001, Escape Goat, Biology Battle, radiangames stuff, and qrth-phyl get lost in the pile. I suppose some credit should be given to the Uprising, but it is still a small amount of the total.

All right, I'm going to get this on Xbox today, then. Thanks for the response.

TEC 3001 is a great one. But yeah a lot of it is trash. Gotta take the effort to fish out the good ones.
Circle Nine Sep 20, 2012 @ 7:16am
Because it's on XBLIG and there is so much trash on XBLIG that you can't sell a game on there for 5$ unless its another minecraft+gun or minecraft+zombies clone.

But minecraft has zombies...lol
