Glad I only paid 13 bucks for this.....
Charging full AAA price for this game is luducris......Very minor changes to the gameplay and a few tweaks here and there. The missions are absurdly lengthened by blocking your ability to drive a vehicle to more than 3/4 of the map. I realize the basis of the first game was heavy on the fetching of crap here and there but at least you didnt spend 70% of your travel time in the water creeping along at squat speed while the zombies can run full speed in the water???? WTF?..........Mission 45 "Fetch the golden turd from the other side of the map " Oh and by the way its not anywhere near a fast travel hub..................One Nice thing I did like was the last stand scenarios.....was a cool addition to have the NPC's fighting. Added a nice touch to the action.

I'd have been happy to pay 19.99 when it was new....but 40-50 bucks is just theft for the amout of meat on the bones.

the zombies running at full speed in waist-high water is total ♥♥♥♥ing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and utterly unfair...but that is my only gripe about the game, that and full retail price is a bit steep

I bought it when it was discounted at 66%. To me that is what it's worth at the most.

Well you know, only Drowners as they are mutated and physically altered for this. ;-)

No, I am not talking about those zombies, I am talking about the infected running from the mainland and rushing in at full speed in waist high water. That's what I'm talking about.

And LegendsLord has a good point, since when did zombies become fishmen? Seriously it's a stupid add-on imo. Also, the boats ♥♥♥♥ing suck.

There aren't a ton of pc games that usually cost more than 50 at launch unless they are a well established franchise like COD.......the first dead island did "very well" not a blockbuster (Its one of my personal top 5's by the way) $40 was way to much for half the content of the original. I really didn't like starting at level 15 either with no way to turn it off...........I also think they needed more work benchs(sarcastic)......having them every 2 feet is a little rediculous.

It felt like a 13 year old designed it......A half empty world (90% jungle).....starting way to powerful......your given way to much money.......

I just started playing DI 1 again and its way more fun and challenging.

For the people who gripe about how DI 1 and DI 2, don't fix what's not broken.

Excuse me? You probably are blind or forgot how empty was Resort and Jungle map in DI. Also how oversized and large maps were compared to actual content or playable area. They did other plot related large maps instead of merge them in one map and cut unnecessary stuff that won't serve as decoration or exploration area. Also butchered game in Acts even if actual map was 1-chapter 1-quest area namely everything after
Just compare: http://guides.gamepressure.com/deadisland/ with http://guides.gamepressure.com/deadislandriptide/
As you see here, Riptide has more content and quests than DI in more seamless world and continuous campaign. Oversized maps with little playable area compared to their size and decorations doesn't make bigger game world, length or content.
