Can't connect to my friend.
I recently purchased the Humble Bundle which includes Dead Island:Riptide with it. I'm trying to join my friend but whenever it connects I can't see him ingame. When he joins me the connection times out.

I'm using Windows 8. He's using Windows 7, if that helps.

Any suggestions?

Kinda for me but we can see each other for a short time and the game never times out it only crashes

The game doesn't support Windows 8, but there are a lot of people who use it and have it working. There were some people who needed to update their windows media player (version 12) from the Microsoft site, but I think that was mainly for problems with movies.

I can't find the post at the moment, but there was another person with the same problem who did manage to fix it. I believe it was related to one of Windows 8 default networking settings. Perhaps the firewall is blocking the connection?

Anyway, search around here... somewhere in the forums is a fix for it, or perhaps the people involved still watch the forums and will post it again.
