Given up with Dead Island Riptide... This bug just put the last nail in the coffin

So apart from all the other bugs I've been experience with Dead Island Riptide (Dead Island was fine mostly), this last last bug just means I won't/can't be bothered with the game anymore. So I was happily enjoying my game on single player mode (Chapter 3 having nearly completed all the little side quests), when another player was "nearby". All of a sudden, the game resets to chapter 1 and I've lost all progress, weapons..... EVERYTHING!

I'm gutted!

It seems all the games I've played this game really has been riddled with bugs.Quality control dept of this game need heads rolling as it's a disgrace!

If this is a reflection of what's to come from the dead island franchise, I won't be buying again!

Wow mate i feel for you when you mean another player did you not set it for single player in settings ? that way other players can't join... if not i wonder if you were hacked

Ah Dont be a baby =/ At LEAST You Can PLAY, I'm still stuck with this stupid black screen and I recently changed my graphics card hoping for it to work for me but nope, Can't see a damn thing when i choose to play

Hey Pal i am sorry to hear this... but i think Hartley was right, there are many hackers in this game or just dump young kids who messes around with trainers or something. be carefull and always make a backup from your game saves.

thanks guys. Any idea what folder/files I need to make backups of the saved games? At least that will give me a bit of confidence to carry on.

It's the same as DI GOTY one, it can be for ex: Steam\userdata\randomnumber\91310\remote\out
The ones for Riptide have 'r' in names, so profile is default.prr and saves are like save_0.sar while for GOTY or normal DI are pro or sav.
