Missing a file?

I found some tweaks that I would like to use but the file I need to edit I apparently don't have. It's supposed to be c:\Users\<username>\Documents\Riptide\out\data\skills\default_levels.xml but I don't have that file and there's no data folder in the out folder. I have it set to show hidden folders and it's simply not there. I checked the Steam folder too and it's nowhere to be found. Help?

The files you are looking for are in the Riptide installation directory, C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\diriptide\DI. You will find them in Data0.pak and Data1.pak.

You can open these files with Winzip or 7Zip, WinRar or pretty much any other similar program.
DO NOT EXTRACT THEM INTO THE C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\diriptide\DI DIRECTORY. Put any files you extract into your documents directory for Riptide, which will be C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\Riptide\out\Data

Any files you place in there will be read instead of the files in the game directory, so you can change them. Although I am not aware of anyone causing themselves a problem with VAC using this directory, turn of VAC in your games when using modded files. Changing anything in the actual installation directory is much more likely to trigger a VAC issue.

Ummm... I can't find the Data in the Documents\Riptide\out\Data... The only options I see for folders is logs and settings... Trying to add a mod and I need this location, please help. Again I just can't find the Data folder in out...

Go to the Out directory, then just right-click, select new directory, and name it Data. Then you can put whatever you need into it.

I want to thank for this information and through it I was able to make the modifications in my game.
