Locations of stingray tails and team quest items

its a real pain to find stingray tails i cant seem to find a single one at all all i have in my inventory is just one and in the dead island game you get stingray tails by floaters yet now i cant seem to find a single one i dont know if its a glitch or something but i dont know who sells stingray tails too cause its all random for the modification items

i'm stuck on same boat lol apparently there is a vendor but only in chapter 3 the father of the guy you get tree bark for but you gotta get it fastcos he disappears after that

actualy i managed to find one in the swamp but he dissapears after a while its the guy who's son you get tree bark for in i think it was called malaka village right after the bark part he turns into a vendor and usualy has 1-2 different green crafting mats

I got my stingray tails from trash cans in Halai and on the beach in Chapter 1 (under the palm fronds you can search).

The only place I really saw where the stingray tails respawn, is in the Makeshift Hospital in Henderson. They're in trash cans in the basement.

Go the the beach from the very beginning, theres searchable "container" of a plant or seaweed or something. Stingray tails are pretty common from them and theres about 6 or so of them along the beach.

Stingray only looting you will find them but quest items at stage 2 to 3 those special miscelanous items they stay around those dead zones.

im with MisterLlamarr and mgsmith02 best location is on the beach where you start. Just search the palm tree debris piles, found all mine there. The cave makes this fast as you can loot the piles, enter and exit the cave, and loot piles again. Wash, Rinse, and Repeat.

There one native he trading stingray I bought a lot from him...or sometimes find in the rubbish bin...

the native guy--the father who takes care his sick son that you will find in the Mataka villiage during the main quest has a lot stingray tails for sale. just have to have some coins ready when you first talk to him because he and his two sons disappear for good after that

the beach, called Pearl Sands, where you first start the game has some potential to find stingray tails.
what you should look for is Palm leaf or frond something half burried in the sand along the beach. there are around 6 at least.
when you search them, you will most likely have 4 results: nothing, barbed wire, orleander--the flower you can gather in the pond nearby, and finally stingray tails.
you can find several of this type of Palm leaf at other locations, such as the bottom of the watertower near Halai village main entrance, chopper crash site, etc. keep your eyes peeled.
other than that, act as a homeless--check all trash cans.

You can also buy stingray tails and floater meat if you do the main quest to find medicine for that sick kid .... after that you can speak with the father (after you found the items you're looking for) he sells various items including this one. about insulin that is also to be found in the clinic (quest to retrieve that book for the doctor) and in that passage that leads to the blade women and helicopter.
