"Steam must be running to play this game"..........
Wow seriously I have not been able to get on maple since mid june because of stupid errors such as website and gamelauncher STILL being broken for me on every browser and running as an admin does not help as well as turning off every firewall, reinstalling the game....

Now I cannot even launch the game anymore!!! Even though I get the pathetic "Trouble logging in?" error that was so frustrating the past week, at least i got in! Now it says when I launch "Steam must be running to play this game" and im online!

Try this:

1. Exit Steam (fully exit, and not the X button on top right corner)
2. Go to where you installed Steam usually in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam

3. Rename ClientRegistry.blob to sometthing else. ClientRegistry.blob2 for example.
4. Open Steam once again and launch the game.

reset your computer and try acsessing the game as you would normally doing so by pressing play

If you're not doing it yet, run steam as administrator. It might solve it.

There are now two files name ClientRegistry.blob and ClientRegistry.blob2 in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam which one do i keep? Do i need to rename any of them?

Did u try the "verify integrity of game cache" button, it potientially can fix problems without reinstalling. It's worth a shot if u haven't tried it yet

That should fix doubles files and clashes also

Oh one last thing, if u have two of any files from maple it will clash and give u either the network error or wont even start the game. Im done... i think lol

hi I got a question for you. I bought MW2 and download the game via steam but when it reached %99 it stopped download and gave an error. It was connection timeout. So I re-install the MW2, even re-install the steam but nothing changed.. Do you have any idea what is going on?

i feel like that could be registry issues, have u tried running the registry on ccleaner?

Well for me it always says that unless I uncheck a box that says it will protect me from hacks and such. Uncheck that box and when choosing which world to play in, don't take too long. Because if you take a while, you will get that annoying "Trouble logging in?" problem. If it does say that, restart the game.

Sounds better then my post haha I've never had that issue with any game
