Not working on Win8 64 bit.

in steamapps folder its takes only 125 MB. Either I have a bad install or its comletely not installed. I guess I do not need JA2 to play this right? It is a stand alone version rite?

I re-installed. Directory size looks ok. But still same problem.

Not working for me either. I just bougth this because I thought it would be fun game to play on New computer. Any plans to enable this to work on windows 8?

Asked steam support. 2 weeks later reply says I should contact 3rd party support. The support page takes you to here http://www.kalypsomedia.com/en/support/index.shtml Sent them an email as well but not expecting any help. I will try to get refunded by steam . I'm sure thats pretty dead end also.

Well this teaches me to start reading game hubs BEFORE buying them. Once they cheat me its them. Twice I get cheated its my bad. I recommend the same to all. Read COMMUNITY before you buy.

I contacted the steam support too and its always the same. You get an e-mail with things they told you to do but nothing works because this e-mail is only to reassure and hold you up. The things they told you are like graphic card driver update or other updates they tell this because they are 404. The steam support is completely incompetent in these matters. Its the second time i pay steam money for no service in return.

hi guys, same crap here. Windows 8 64 bit, no help from steam, cant find solution in internet. . Starting not to like steam...

Hi! I found the solution :) The solution:

1) Download https://ja2svn.dyndns.org/source/ja2_v1.13_data/GameDir/Windows%208%20Fix.zip
2) Copy ddraw.dll, libwine.dll and wined3d.dll from extracted $SYSWIN folder into the root folder of your JA2 installation (e.g. C:\Games\steam\steamapps\common\Jagged Alliance 2\)
3) Run the game.

And no compatibility must be on. Just extract those 3 files and start the game:) i am happy!!!

Hey there!
I used the solution of spam.jeh but I still got a problem.
I'm running Win8 64Bit with Bootcamp on a Macbook Pro 15 with Retina Display. The game starts but the display only shows about the upper left part of the game. that way it's impossible to play.
Any one got an idea how to change the resolution of JA2 Wildfrie to play?
