[SPOILERS] WTF is going on in Zeno Clash 2
I loved the gamery parts of ZC1 and ZC2, but the story ... ugh, the story.
ZC1 left us with many questions. ZC2 answered them by ... not answering them?
In ZC1, we claim we "killed" Father-Mother ... but at that game's end, and in ZC2, they are clearly alive?
Why do we break Father-Mother out of prison, if we're just going to turn them back in later for their "trial"?
Why do we keep talking about how stupid we think the law is, and how we don't believe in prisons ... but later, we're gonna go to Father-Mother's trial?
What is with the hand-eye guys?
What's with the grandfather clock, bureau, and piano? Is this a puzzle?
Does anyone understand ZC2's Experience Point system?

1.) During most of ZC 1, Ghat THINKS he killed Father Mother (I'll refer to him/her as FM from now on, that's quicker. :P). At the end of the game, he cannot bring himself to kill FM, and in fact confesses that to him, FM is still both his father and mother.

2.) Freeing FM was all well and good, but even Ghat cannot do anything about the whole of Halstedom trying to beat the ever loving crap out of him/her. Ghat and Rimat start traveling to find some way to stop the golem, and, therefore, the trial, and all the other things that Golem brought with him.

3.) Ghat might hate the law and rules of Golem, but he can't really do anything about it, now can he?

4.) Hand-eye guys? What do you mean? o.e

5.) If you didn't get it, spoliers: Zeno Clash is actually a post apocalíptic game. Outside Zenozoik an actual world awaits. Hence the everyday objects beyond the edge of the world.

6.) Ofcourse. You go and grab totems that give you skill points. You can then use said skill points to boost your damage, your heatlh, and so on. It's pretty straightforwards, really. :D

Any other questions?

Regarding the trial, I'm pretty sure Rimat and Ghat misunderstood what it was. The Golem obviously means a trial in the legal sense, but Ghat and Rimat seem to think it's the kind of trial where you see which group is the physically stronger one. Which is why they want to gather all their brothers and sisters.

Seeing as they don't even know what a jail is, I really doubt they understand which kind of trial the Golem means.

right, the golem admits he may have made a mistake by introducing civilized concepts to zenozoik and it's those concepts and ideas that ghat, father mother's children, and the citizens of halstedom seem to ignore or fail to accept. it serves the reaffirmation of the golems' duties and reiterates the "chimera" is unworthy to return to the world beyond end world.

the bearau, clock, and piano are relics discovered as one literally returns to civilization. as in, leaving zenozoik and traversing end world is a literal return to the true world.

all the dealings with law and trial were triggered by golem, as he admits to it. there was little to no established history or experience for the city denizens to fully appreciate what was to take place.

i am being redundent but it was to make a point that even in the end of zc2, the chimera lines are still not ready and the only questions actually raised by the ending were who the replacement golems will be and what is it really like beyond end world (how old is that civilization and so forth).

The motivations for all the primary characters are spelled out pretty clearly...
