Blue beams [spoilers]

So, I just grabbed the fourth secondary item and am loving it. I know it can be used to trigger the blue beam switches when two orbs are there, but what about the setups with a single orb and a blue beam going to a little golden winged statue? I'm just wondering if I'm meant to figure out something here -or- wait for some kind of upgrade. If it's something I'm meant to puzzle out, that's okay. Just want to know if I'm being oblivious or something.

no upgrade required. took me a while myself to figure it out but when i did i was like, "duuuhhh"

the answer is simpler than you think and best if you figure it out. you might even need to reload the area like i did.

Hm, I know it's usually necessary to link two of them together to break them- I just can't reach the one behind the barrier on the south island, where you first get the item.

Instead of linking to balls you can also link other things.

Haha, I had considered linking it to an enemy, but not that I've cleared the area there are no more enemies, and nothing else this particular orb can be linked to. Maybe I've just missed my chance.

did you come back to the area after clearing it or have you reloaded the checkpoint to redo it? after a certain point the shadows will stop spawning in that area. dw, you wont miss out on anything too amazing in the clamshell if you cant get to it.

I came back after clearing it, yeah. I know there's probably nothing amazing in there, but the perfectionist in me kept twitching whenever I went past it, haha. Thanks anyway!

Can't you link those that are still on those pedestals? Don't know if you can hit them, but I think I still linked them.
