Oculus Rift: VR + Zenozoik
I got an oculus rift at christmas and to cut my story short i would love to experience the original and amazing world of zenozoik in this immersive way;
however i haven't been able to find any people actively modifying the game to allow for VR while searching the web, and i havent found any bits of info on the subject from the developers, so i was wondering if anyone had any advice or general help on the matter;

(I am aware the game uses the unreal engine and im not certain how that affects the vr possibilities)

ACE Team have mentioned the possibility of Zeno Clash II and the Occulus Rift http://steamcommunity.com/app/215690/discussions/0/810924133954158128/ and http://forums.aceteam.cl/index.php?showtopic=3461 but I think they recently said they were focussing on other areas at the moment (though I can't seem to find it).

As of today I am opposed to in-game facebook integration and occulus rift based data tracking. R.I.P. Occulus Rift. BBC reports the kickstarter backers are split in their feelings and half of them quite torn up about the matter.

considering i got mine before the whole facebook affair, it has no effect on me whatsoever

i am of the sentiment that although it is certainly legal, facebook just sucks and the whole mess is sour. if i can't even delete the preinstalled facebook app from my phone i can only imagine what annoyances will find themselves creeping into oculus rift.

from a fanboy or average gaming joe perspective, it feels an awful lot like when EA buys small studios (with the promise that those small studios will have the funding they need to realize their vision, same thing facebook is promising here) only to send them to their graves shortly afterwards. i know that sort of situaion works differently than facebook buying oculus rift but it definitely feels the exact same level of disappointment and scumbaggery.

i will just resign to waiting for the asus brand headset to reach the market or some other alternative. finally, after the past couple of generations have dreamed of common and affordable fully realized vr tech; we are just within a few months reach.. the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ of social media swoops in with billions to repurpose the dream into a nightmare of a locked-in platform for ad revenue.

now that facebook has gotten to carmack, God forbid they should set their sights on gabe newell, valve, and steam.

There's more to VR than just putting on goggles, why can't anyone understand this

who do you feel is misunderstanding? oculus rift? facebook? or us thread posters? in the full vr experience i can't imagine playing zeno clash 2 more than 10 minutes without becoming entirely exhausted. "putting on goggles" works for sake of conversation.

the first prototype of the oculus was just hardware, no vr software came with the development kit, but you had acces to development software if you wished as you got codes with the dev kit; the second version has increased hardware improvements but i dont know if they'll begin to include neccessary software with it when it comes out, so as it stands facebook hasn't inserted their talons, so to speak as of yet. personally i think they have sensed the probable increase in popularity that is likely to happen upon the official release.
thus they probably intend to ensure they get the big profits.

i know how to do that. rooting to delete or not; either way it serves to make the same point; that facebook, instead of simply extending an offer or granting an option.. it has instead taken the initiative to impose. instead of being declined it must now be circumvented. not to blow it out of proportion but it is annoying.

bananajane, i can stick to calling oculous rift simply a headset or goggles if it makes you feel better. i would probably be unnecessarily extending a spent topic anyway so.. apologies.
