The game runs at 6 fps max
The game is VERY slow for some reason, while audio is ok.
It is painful to play like that.

My specs are:
Windows 7
AMD FX-8150
GeForce GTX 580 1.5gb
8gb RAM

Thanks for the post, Mute. I will take a look at this and see. Did you play the game before the recent update? If so, did it work fine?

When the game runs slowly, do you have a joystick (Xbox 360 controller or otherwise) plugged into your system?

I bought Home after the recent update. No, I haven't had any controllers plugged at the moment.

Thanks, Mute. I think I may have figured out the issue (at least I hope so); can you please try the following test file and let me know if this runs appropriately?

I'm uploading a file to Dropbox; it should be ready to download by 4:00PM EST:

Download test file here[dl.dropbox.com] (~96 MB)

No luck. Everything is the same with your test file.

Okay, thanks for trying that. I just want to see if this is a specific issue with the new version of the game, so I can narrow things down. Here is another test file—an older one, without some new code. Can you please let me know about this one?

It got better with test file 2. Now it is 25 fps during text screens (which is great) and 10-11 fps when exploring. 11 fps still feels quite slow, but I may be wrong. What fps should we aim for?

Hi again. Okay, it seems like the joystick code might be causing the issue, but I haven't been able to replicate the slow framerate here. There's a v1.3.3 update up now on Steam, but that may not fix the issue. I'm going to have to try to see what else might be up.

Update 1.3.3 didn't help. Thank you for your support, and I'm waiting for future updates.

Hi mute:

With the test file I gave you, you definitely shouldn't be having any kind of slowdown. I'm testing a new file with another use to see if it helps; I'll get back to you after that.

Same problem here, I try the test file when I have some times.

Besides my specs are :
Windows XP SP3
Intel dual core 2.2Ghz
Radeon HD 4770
4Go Ram

The only controller I have is a PSX to USB, I have to unplugged it to play (else the character stay in looking up mode) and there is no software with it

Thanks, Shadowritter. I'm working on a new patch and hope to finally address this.

Sup, dudes?

I was running into the same issue. (At first I thought, man, is this grueling slow speed part of the atmosphere?) I came here and couldn't find a solution, but, I futzed about and I figured out a quick fix:

If you go to the Home app, right click on it, select properties, and then under the compatibility tab, select "Run this program in compatibility mode for ... Windows XP (SP3)" then it runs like a charm.

Anyone else with a slowness issue, try this out! It should work (... at least for me).

Didn't help me. But thanks for suggestion.

My game is also running extremely slow on Windows 7. I first thought that it was a design decision to make it slow as hell like Dear Esther, but seems according to videos it should be fast. Really problematic glitchy game...

Ok, now that I tried it again after completely refreshing the computer it runs smoothly with the normal frame rate. I put the XP SP3 compatibility option on and it may have been the solution.
