High CPU Usage / Audio Problems
I just got Home from a friend as a Christmas present and just installed it on my computer, however from the second I start the game and onwards the audio has a really weird crackly or choppy sound, when checking task manager the game tends to use up around 54-70% CPU too (however this isn't a big concern, just the fact that the audio is choppy or whatever), I don't get these audio problems on other games despite higher CPU usage (~90%).

- System Specifications -
Operating System: Windows 7 (64 Bit)
Processor: Intel Core2Duo U7300 @ 1.73 GHz
RAM: 4GB DDR3
GPU: NVIDIA GT 335M (2GB VRAM, Display Mode: 1366x768)

Any advice is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hi folks: I think this is a weird issue with the version of GameMaker that was used to make the game; I haven't been able to narrow this down to any one specific setup so far.

I've been spending the past months upgrading the game and am close to releasing a version 1.5 that I hope will address this. I will post a test file soon to see if it has.

Thanks for your patience! I am trying to get this all done as fast as possible.

Hi guys, I have a basic test version of the game for you to try. This isn't the GM Studio release, but an in-between patch I'm considering while work on that continues.

Please download and unzip this EXE; run it and try to play through a few rooms; let me know if you stil get the CPU load or audio issues. I'm trying to see if joystick checks via GameMaker are causing the problems.

Download test file[www.homehorror.com] (~100MB)

Thanks,
B.
