The ending is as follows:

There is no ending, you just go through whatever items you've collected while walking back home, and then decide who killed who with yes/no questions. The end.

The ending is grief. Your decisions are coping mechanisms designed to reshape reality after facing the worst night of your life. "What happened, oh yea, I saw nothing in those sheets. I really need to seal that wall up better anyways" or to be left facing the brutal truth that you whitnessed "She was there, dead, and I'd killed her. I didn't want to beleive I had, I forced it out of my head, but the proof just kept coming back. I'd done it all, I must be stopped!" or even "Some monster kidnapped me, killed my friend, and slaid my wife in my home! He even tried to hide her! We've got to stop this man! Who's with me? What? Of course my fingerprints are on all the murder weapons, I had to investigate when no one else would! I told you already, he was saving me for later, and I woke up in his house! Aren't you listening, we have to catch this monster! Why are you grabbing me? Let me go! Don't you understand! More are going to die! I'm not the killer! How could I be? How could I be?"

Lots of room for analysis. I enjoyed the process of contributing to the delusion.
